The chapterhouse kits are a bit pricey by the model when you factor in that you'll need to buy a bike model on top of it - you're looking at around $30-50/model just for your council. I know you mentioned above that cost wasn't an issue, but you can do just as good (or better) by picking up High Elf Noble torsos and arms (search ebay for "high elf bits" - I like Hoard_*_Bits) and combine them with the biker's legs. Little bit of greenstuff for robes if you like and a guardian head... BAM! Instant Jetlocks.

All that said, I like the Chapterhouse kit for the farseer, which adds a nice "custom" model leading my army, which is pretty customized as it is.

I love the jetseer council, but Danu is spot on when he says you don't need 2 councils at 1K. I run a group of 7 locks (3 spears, 3 destructors, 2 embolden, 2 enhance) with a doom/fortune seer with RoWit and stones. Decent redundancy, flexible wound allocation (not that it matters much), and not too big of a footprint that finding cover is difficult.

I use 2x 6xGBJ+Lock w/ 2 Shuricannons, Embolden, and a Spear as the core troops. These guys find a nice bit of cover that they can hop over to shoot the cannons and hop back behind during assault to hopefully block line of sight. Keep the squad size manageable so that they can stay behind cover, but not so small that losing one or two models will run them off the board.

I've been using an EML Falcon with 5x Dire Avengers (bare) and a second footseer with Guide and Fortune (or Eldrad if I'm feeling competitive) that hunker down in cover for TL Pulse Laser/EML shots and re-rollable cover saves which is great combined with stones and holofields. Turbo-boosts out to cover an objective or tank shocks a unit off a nearby objective late game.

A pair of prisms finishes out my core force, but I've found them lack-lustre in an anti-tank role. I always scatter just enough that I miss the hull of the vehicle and deal half damage. :-( The Jetlock squad has racked up the vehicle kills though and has been the terror of the few IG players I've run up against.

I love the idea of Spears, but they've not performed well the few times I've used them. In larger games, say 2k, I might drop the falcon combo and add a second council just to see the look on my opponent's faces.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Eldar bike lists are ok. I won tourneys with them.

Playing x2 jetlock squads at 1000 pts may raise a few eyebrows

Run the vypers. Use GJB assault move to give vypers cover after shooting.

Eldar 18W-2L-5D Overall x4
Deathwing 21W-7L-6D Overall x4 Best General x1 Best Appearance x3, 19th place Adepticon 40k Champs.

I do enjoy jetbikes, however I also would run with the Vypers. The other way seems to bring vulnerability putting all your eggs in one basket like that.

thats great to hear. Thanks a ton guys. I am doing the High elf kit bashing for my Council. While price wasn't to much of an issue, i didn't want to spend the 15 bucks per model when i already has the high elf bits.

So for my 6x Locks with Seer, you think running the 3 singing spears and then 4 blades?

I'm def going with the Vypers and already checked out that "moving" cover save trick with the guardians. Cant wait =)

He would either table it in 6 turns OR be shot off table for not using some cover. It's that simple

I decided to drop the vypers and squeeze in 2 Fire Prisms. I had to drop each squad down to 6 but I think its going to be worth it.

Let me know what you guys think.

Under your bed.

It will be good if you can get it under points - I have it at 1007 :s
Swap a destructor for another spear.

Ignore all that. I know nothing.

I can do that =) I was trying to do that list from memory last night. I forgot my Codex at work =O

I just felt that the old list was lacking fire power. I'm hoping the fire prisms can make up for that.

Thanks for the reply.

I've played with fire prisms a lot (nearly every game I've played) and I don't think you will be particularly impressed with their fire power.

Yes, on paper, they have a very big gun, and if it hits it can do very much damage, but all too often your targets are in cover, or you get shaken / stunned and can't shoot, and you are disabled and reduced to a battering ram after 1 weapon destroyed result.

They are good units, but don't expect them to drastically increase your fire power. I'd wage you'll find you had more raw fire power from the vypers, due to having more targets for your enemy to need to disable.

Xom finds this thread hilarious!
