My god is that a seagull on the grumpy guardsman? Perhaps you could model some haggis and use them as the equivalent of bomb squigs!

Aww man I have fallen in love with this scheme. Sorry but if i ever do Imperial Guard then I shall be copying your scheme as it is awesome.

The only difference will be the tartan to my tartan colours though.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

The tank is named after a whisky... unless the Commisar is asking, when its named after an island... obviously

Nice work on the wavy flag. I think it might benefit from a last going over with blue to define the cross a bit more.

Also Bagpipes are indeed instruments of war (in more ways than 1) so they should be present

I just thought of something awesome that the bagpipes could count as. Demo charges in vet squads.

Just think about how awesome that would be! Music to our ears is torture to theirs.

Nae! Use them as vox units. Pipes to communicate orders.

Orks are like those neighbor children who aren't invited to your parties and they come right in anyway.

This is awesome..

But..

I think you really should make squad with bagpipes.. And you could use them as psyker battlesquad.

The Vox idea is good, but Xenon truly understands the uses of the Massed Pipes

Looking good.
You don't have to just use kilts either, some tartan trews would look great and only requires the ordinary guards' legs to be painted tartan.
A bonnet or two would look great also.

I hope you're still going to do it though and there are a ton of ideas for IG involving Scottish themes that are still left to explore.

These are brilliant. I very much like your idea about using the tartans as squad markings.

You basing the tartans on your own family tartan at all?

Hey everyone. Time for another update. This time I have not got anything new thats painted. HOWEVER, before you start throwing haggis at me, I do have some conversions I have been working on. One is very much a pilot model, as it was a pain in the arse to make but I love it, namely a Rough Rider concept for my Imperial Guard. The second is the commander for my first platoon. The last is a half painted Ogryn which has been Scot-ified a bit. Enjoy, and please comment love hearing you feed back. Oh and too the guy who asked whether it is my family tartan, it is roughly based on it as it is primarily a green yellow red scheme. More coming soon hopefully.
