Great work! As someone else said, the chipping is disturbingly 3D-looking.
I usually give my KFF Mek a Burna, but I like the standard arm so I didn't want to chop it. I've looked at my unpainted Mek and pics of painted ones about a million times I'm sure, but yours has somehow instantly inspired me with a conversion idea. Thanks!
The chips are just a thin application of very dark red (black with a touch of VMC burnt cadmium red) underlined with VMC tan yellow. Metal is just a spot of boltgun metal in the middle of the dark red.

WELL DONE in GD! very nice meeting you there and i must say your dread looks unbelievable in real life! unfortunately i didn't see this one in the end :(
Actually the best thing I ever painted was a 200m Verlinden Adolf Galland. Took me about 4 weeks solid work and it was utterly pristine (in my memory). At the time my brother and I were selling them to various RAF museums. I think it ended up being sold to the gift shop at RAF Hendon for about £400.
I dunno if they still use the same resin, but at the time the Verlinden stuff ground down pretty nicely with a dremel (rather than melting like the FW stuff does).
I have a 110mm Sailor Malan (WW2 pilot) to do from Poste Militaire which is very nice.
