Going against Orks, I tend to run a TL-AutoCannon and a Plasma Cannon, for some template goodness.

2 TL-Auto Cannons are one of the best loadouts you can throw onto a dread.

Agree with Sainthazard... autocannons are good against ork light vehicle squadrons... kans, buggys, deffkopta's (not really a vehicle), etc. Giving you the possibility of multiple hits on the squadron in one go. So far... *most* games have provided viable targets for him... but you do take a chance. If I'm going to pod he and the sternguard in, I'll drop one of the autocannons for a CCW & HF, still gives you a decent chance to damage a light vehicle while giving him a much more significant assault support role.

However vs. front line armor... forget it.

I just have to say this to balance out the thread.

The forge world dread weapon arms are awsome. If you have problems with it, then you've probably never worked with resin before. It will take more time to clean up then plastic, and over time, especially in shipping, resin has a habit of bending, but its real easy to bend back.

I can't recommend the forgeworld dread arms enough.

And if the Ork player is running all of his infantry in Trukks, then, well... all of a sudden your autocannons are your most valuable asset.

Depends on how one runs one's Orks. Against MY Orks, autocannons are next to useless. 4 TL S7 AP4 shots will either kill 4 Boyz (which is fine, I have 16 more to jam down your throat in that unit alone) or do exactly no damage to one of my AV14 Battlewagons.

Autocannons are a middle-ground weapon, whereas my Orks are made of extremes.

Sounds like we run our orks much the same. How many boyz can you fit in 1500 points? You start with 180 then figure out what to do with the last 200 points of the army lol.

Yeah, it's dead good. I like te FW arms, I got in early when the molds were young. Need to get a lascannon set while I still can...

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
