Its difficult to explain but they looked like a normal 6 sided dice that had been sucked in in the middle, so the 8 corners stuck out from a somewhat curved in center. Imagine sucking in a cardboard box towards a point in the middle.
Were these dice a tan-ish color? I believe they are called "Bone Dice", and they do indeed have corners curved out from the center with the sides sucked in.
Imho, it is very easy to control the outcome of these dice when rolling, and I would feel uncomfortable with anyone using them in a game against me.
Here's a pic of what I'm referring to (and think you might be):
The description on the website describes what they're for- RPGs, or just quirky things... but imho they're not fit for a competitive game like warhammer.

we always bring the same dice and mix ours together whenever we play. whenever we use trick dices we allow the opponent to make any subsequent Saves or Damage rolls on the same dice. mine are cheap dollar store dices, and hiliarously came back to bite all of us in the butt when we consecutively rolled 10 1's between us XD (I got 3, my friend's brother got 2, and my friend got 5). Hilariously, when we pray to Khorne (the dice being red and came in packs of 8) the dice mysteriously start rolling 5's and 6's.
Unless serious money was involved, anyone who even bothers to cheat at this game doesnt even deserve my recognition. How much of a failure in life does one have to be to cheat in a tabletop game?

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I've been accused of bad dice play before (mostly a warning) as when I play my 40k orks, I have two separate piles of dice. I use my reddish dice for all my offensive stuff (I call them my dakka dakka dice, and actually yell that when rolling my loota D3) and my green GW cube dice I use for defensive saves/LD tests/everything else. It's more of an OCD thing than it is trying to stack the odds...(though when I need to roll 80 attacks for the orks, I just combine them both).
The real complaint I've had against me, is the old game shop I played at had tables with really slick tops. We didn't have felt to put on them, so when dice were rolled they would really roll/slide really far. After a while of getting sick of seeing dice fly all over the place, when I'd go to roll I'd cup my left hand to "catch" all the dice to stop the scatter. The guy I was playing told me this could come off as cheating and to stop, though it wasn't intentional.
I guess my point is, sometimes it might be accidental. After treading the OTs post, however, I would have to agree something fishy was going on. I think the real indicator is separating LD vs saves/wound rolls to two different dice as one needs high rolls, and the other low.

If you suspect someone of cheating, use their dice for a few rolls, or have them use some of yours.

Some tournaments now specify that either player can request that both players use the same dice.
Players who use different dice for LD tests than they do for everything else is a warning sign, though not conclusive.
If you see highly improbable rolls through an entire game, it's well worth talking to the organizers and asking them to check out the dice. They can roll the dice themselves to see if they show an unusual pattern. The other easy test is to drop them in a bucket or glass of water, and see if they consistently tumble to land with one side facing up. I remember hearing that the organizers had done the bucket test at a GT in Seattle a few years ago and kicked someone out.

I used to own a set of 70 'loaded' dice.
Overall, it was more for cheating at Monopoly to make my sister cry, but in Tournaments and other Serious Business, I would have reported the guys to the TO Automatically Appended Next Post: Kilkrazy wrote:

it requires a letter of invitation, a full background check, you must answer a bunch of questions(while strapped to a Polygraph machine) and then take the "Oath of Dakka"
you are also required to wear white robes and these funny cone shaped hats
