speaking of reading the codex, do you know what "heroic intervention" does?

I do! I do! and it still does not allow you to assault out of drop pods. Might pay off to tone down the "teaching-voice" when talking about rules you're not 100% on

yes but I don't like vanguard vets and to be honest I feel they are too expensive for what they would bring to the list.
And even with DoA it is still possible to scatter out of charge range.
Plus they have to have jump packs so if they were to arrive in a drop pod they still wouldn't be able to charge.
So stick that in your pipe and smoke it

So 54 out of 69 models in the list have jump packs which makes it a majority jump list
let me guess adding a librarian furioso or death company would make this list work or I could ditch all the dev and take preds. And to the unschooled this is sarcasm !!!

Devastators work well in a jump list because they keep your list completely on foot. You need the long ranged fire support to complement the short ranged killiness of the Assault Squads but adding vehicles doesn't really work as they become very obvious targets for anti tank weapons. In a DoA based list it is a particularly bad idea as the vehicles are usually the only thing on the board for the first two turns, Devesators (particularly full sized combat squad Devs) can handle this much better.

Irked Blood Angel Scout with Combat Knife
|
Heres a few tips :
He was playing blood angels right with the assault but against slow moving armys like that a Death company with Lemartes would always do well.
Plus a devastator squad is always a good choice even in Blood angels with all your assault marines.
Whats also good is Dante's minus 1 mask but not brilliant against ig.
Mephistons sword of sanguinius and Transfixing gaze work brilliantly to shake crews and if you can get him up in time just use a Furioso Dreadnought to stomp up.
It is a good army but you just have to much fast attack.
What that army would obliterate is Eldar and Dark Eldar.
But not a slow moving Ig army like that , Like i said : Put a Death company with Jumpacks and Lemartes , You wont miss a phew Meltas.
Hope this helps Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh and Btw , If you want to use your Devs dont try and Hold the Ig back , Try more hit and run tactics

Just a little hint to help Kris, if he is using all those Devs in ruins maybe some Techpriests are a good idea. Great game BTW!!

So what's wrong with using Baal Predators then? If anything the fact they can outflank helps make the army's initial assault a lot more sudden.

Jump pack DC is horrible, they will spend any game chasing land speeders etc. Letting your opponent play your army is not a good idea.

They will be the target of every enemy anti-tank weapon. Anti-infantry is also not something this army lacks.

Yes, because Assault Cannons do not shred vehicles.

They can, but you are relying on those 6's. It is not a "good" weapon against vehicles. (I know it is better than a single lascannon against AV14), however, 4x missile launcher will get way more rolls on damage table than 1 assault cannon and they have longer range. For AV14, melta is waaaaay better anyway. The baal is mainly an anti-infantry vehicle. Baals are also great in mech lists, but they are sub-par in jump lists.

I run them outflanking in jump lists. I go heavy on meltas in my jump squads and usually take 2 librarians with blood lance.

As Illumini said. Baals are not needed because this is infantry list. Take two Baals and target priority will see them dead once they come in. Baals would be better in my Razor Spam list if anything.
