1) If you read the Horus Heresy series, he wears both Terminator and Power armour depending on what he is doing
2) The armouri s not flaking, its the light
3) I dont give a **** what his symbol is, i prefer eagle wings...
After all, this is MY take on the Emperor, so if you could leave off with the comments about what HE should have, then that would be appreciated. Thanks for the constructive ones
If all we did was praise you, you would not improve. Frankly, if you want that sort of blind fanaticism, dont post pics on the internet, just show the mini to your mum and have her praise you blindly.

Will, If you took my post as saying your mini was bad, I meant quite the contrary. It's better than what I could do. Although people post looking for constructive criticism, no? That's what we're giving you, although some people seem to be taking it a bit far....

I thought it was about helping to improve other's cooking. It's surprising to see how many people with zero gallery images see fit to offer only harsh comments.
So far as the model goes - since you appear to be a decent sculpter, I might suggest a wreath around his head (the visible part, anyway).

I was hoping to find a wreath in the bitz box, but no cigar
:( it could be a later addition? And what do you think about a Custode retinue based on the grey Knight Terminators?

I think it's a good attempt, the paintwork is nicely detailed and shows off the Emperor quite good. Better than my attempt would have been
The only thing is the head; if it were a few mill's higher it wouldn't look so odd.

First off let me say that the model is excellent and I have nothing but high regard for anyone that attempts to convert models, especially starting with a metal model as the base, as that increases the level of difficulty quite a bit.
In regards to the painting issues being raised by some, it actually looks to me like the underlying primer went on in a somewhat "powdery" fashion and made the model appear to be a bit stippled and rough. The gold paint only accentuates that. Having experienced the exact same thing a few times and seeing a simliar effect I wonder if that is at least part of the problem.
I love the model itself and as long as you are happy with it, that is all that matters. Are you planning on using him in anything like a Warhammer 30K campaign or is he striclty for show?

Well he was going to be used in a game me and my friends played. We did the siege of Terra, me and one friend with a 7000 combined force of Imperium and Tau (ye i know, but thats the only army he has and we cdnt leave him out!) against my other mate with nearly 10,000 points of Chaos and Orks (again, i knw thats not the fluff, but it was still loads of fun!) However the game dragged on for so long that he did not get used. Plus it was kinda hard to write him into the campaign without it being ridiculously hard for the opponent. So at the moment he is just for show

I believe it is Bell of Lost Souls that has a whole set of rules for the Pre-Heresy marines and I thought I recall seeing some rules for the Primarchs and the Emperor. I know there are a variety of places that have versions of the Primarchs/Emperor test rules and as long as everyone agrees it could still make for a fun addition to the game. To balance out your Emperor I am sure one of the Chaos players could find a verion of Horus to use. It may be worth looking at. As far as fighting a large battle goes, unless you can get lucky with the various available players and their armies, all sorts of fluff generally has to go by the wayside. Actually if you wanted to use him in a battle as a version of Calgar to keep things in balance, it would not be the worst idea.
Anyways, excellent model and a good job on the conversion.

I'm with KingCracker on this. I think it's a decent conversion, but a pretty rough paint job.
