I must admit I'm thrilled to see GW deal with the Bret question. I shall reward them by running out and buying some knights. Well, errr, maybe I will paint some more of my Bret army, which usually leads to buying more later. I'm interested in playing FB now, for the first time in months.

I am half surprised that they actually cleared up the Bret question on the Lance formation. It is a pleasant surprise, but I didn't think they would think it was a neccessary answer.

Either people are over-reacting about the difference between immune to flaming and a 2+ ward vs. flaming, or I'm severely underestimating it. I've seen this sentiment elsewhere- but it seems like a reasonable, logical change to me...

To be fair, the number of times it comes up is going to be relatively low. The times it does come up however, expect to lose a couple of Dragon Princes.

Kinda weird to see giants needed to get streamlined. Wishing for something else in some of the books

Yea, now it is a worthless hunk of scrap. Two spells that auto-kill it. No thanks. Now it will be a diorama piece for my Empire army and most likely never see play. What a shame!

(Cheering from those who have no chance of killing said steam tanks )
It's true, those two spells are murderous, but empire can have really good magic defense. If you wanted a steam tank (or 2!?) you would just need to invest in some strong magic defense.
And against armies like mine, they'd be absolutely devastating...! So it's something to consider, at least...

Yea, but just too many armies can deal with it, so its not worth it most of the time. Better to go for a ton of warmachines, imo.

Off Topic: I wouldn't bench something because of 2 spells. I still think a steam tank is worth the 300 points, T10 with 10 W, that sexy steam gun and grind ability still are pretty tough to handle for most armies.
On topic: I did not realize the giant had so many issues!

Depends on the metagame. I see a lot of HElves and Lizardmen.
