Why Assault marines? Vanguard Veterans can all have PW SS or PW PP which I think could turn the tide against TH SS Termies if they shot and then charged them. 10 Vanguards with PW PP truly is a rape force in a LR. Give them JP and they come on the field and assault after Deep Strike. Realistically though, The TH SS Termie is a must take item. The 40 points per model you pay for them is nothing compared to how hard they are to kill and the things they force your enemy to do to stop them.

Vulkan Lists should have a lot of Melta Guns and Flamers and speed - Your list does not.

What are your best sources of meltas and flamers?
Tactical Marines/ Strengaurd Veterans / Land Speeders/ Dreadnoughts.
Your army seems to be lacking all of these things.

Oh man, please don't go back to the assault marine thing Im beggin you lets not argue over all this Well It can be a must take depends on what your doing for fun I wouldn't say must, for competitive I'm closer to must have, everything needs a fair shot somewhere. But still that necron thing is the only deathstar termies cannot tackle as well as other deathstars (despite how old necrons are and how bad many think they are the idea is still very valid) and those warscythes are scary

If your advice consists of "take what you want for fun" why are you posting in the army list advice forum. This is where people go to get told their lists are competitive or not. If you take the approach that you can field anything and you will have fun because every list is equally valid then your not really helping people with their list. The whole point of this part of the forum is to be critical and unbiased.

To be fair I listed something very early on, that I have seen used effectively in competitive play, then an argument cameup about terminators and then it became an entirely different conversation, I mean you do know that the person who made this to begin with made a different topic with an entire different list awhile ago right?

Yeah I commented on his new list too. I still comment on what you say because people come to this part of the forums when they are about to make purchases. I remember when I was new in the hobby and bought a bunch of garbage units because the advice given to me consisted of everything in the codex is useful. If you have alot of money or have been in the hobby for ages and have a huge collection to work with then testing the effectiveness of units by trail and error is just fine. But if your like me a lot of bad purchases will give you an army you can't afford to change that you hate and I try to look out for people who are like me especially in the tactics and army list advice forums.

Yes I do understand that, and well you do know I was saying everything in the codex is useful to the other gentleman when we were talking about the terminators and opinions, I did not however give invalid advice to the person who asked about the Vulkan thing all I did was add my two cents by saying that the command squad is a viable option. Also based on what your saying, you are insinuating that I have either been in the hobby for quite sometime or just have alot of money to spend when both are not true so if you were insinuating that not cool man, Infact I hardly own any models I mostly just proxy models or just write down on a peice of paper what unit it will be. Also why did you honestly listen to the INTERNET on what to buy? And you are also stating that I was giving rubbish advice to begin with, this is a fourm after all so you know different opinions are inevitable.

Well I initially bought things based off of internet advice because I had very little experience with the game and had no way to really objectively choose between what to get. Now when I give advice on certain units is 90% of the time on something I actually own and use regularly and the other 10% is for things I have played heavily against. The point I am still trying to make is that in the 40k tactics and army list forums people are there often times to get advice on a purchase they are about to make and asking if something is viable before they spend time and money putting together and painting up mini's to game with. It irritates me when people have a take what ever is fun attitude in these two forums if the OP asked if a list/unit/tactic was good. If the OP asked what is fluffiest or most fun to play with I rarely respond.

Okay I will give you that, however even when I still had little experience with the game (in a way I still pretty much have no experience I have a horrid win loss streak) even I didn't trust the internet worth anything there are just wayyy too many trolls. And I didn't use the whatever was fun when the OP asked about something I merely chimed in with the command squad is a good idea nothing wrong with that, and when people when berzerk about him not having termies I simply said maybe it is a matter of preferance with him no biggie. Then I had discussed with someone who is a fan of termies that all units really do have a use and such, so I'm not really trolling or anything
