Are you implying Magic is cheaper? As a recovering 12-year veteran of MtG, I can say it cost me as much as an average 2500pt army every 6 months to stay competitive. Seriously.

+1 for cape fear, I like Mr. Dan at the hobby chest but nothing else. I played there once or twice. It was crowded and the gamers there were lame.

Cape fear games is huge clean spacious good tables. all the games are friendly. they usually play on Sundays but its kinda slow atm since football kicked off. I leave this Sunday so I won't be there .

I'll be stopping by the Hobby Chest later today. I'm the guy rocking Black Templars, mostly unpainted haha.

From what I saw, you'd be better off coming on Saturdays. A majority of the players there were playing fantasy, so it kinda cut down on available space. Then again it was really my first time staying around there, so YMMV. Saturdays are open until 9pm, and on Sunday it's open until 6pm.

There is usually a group of regulars there. Seriously though, if all else fails, just call me. My number is up on the bulletin board. I live a few blocks away and have the Guard on stand-by.

Don't think so--I really haven't left the Jacksonville area, yet.

Just to throw it out there, there's a solid game store in Havelock, just outside the gate of Cherry Point. Fridays and Saturdays have some solid amount of 40K players, as well as the occasional Fantasy and Warmachine/Hordes (that'd be me).

Been there! Awesome store, I just need to borrow a car to drive back at one point. Possibly this weekend, but I'm the only one in my shop who plays 40k, and would want to stay for a while.

I'll be getting back from Pakistan within the next week or so, so I'll be back at the chest pretty regularly, it's the one isolated piece of Jacksonville I don't loath.

Glad to see you're coming home, then. I might be at the chest next weekend, depending on if I'm in a DnD group that weekend.

I'm in Afghanistan now, but I was on Lejeune from 1999 - 2008. I'll probably be back next summer. I used to play every Saturday at the Hobby Chest on Western Blvd. The problem is I've recently been hooked into huge Apocalypse games and not sure if i can go back to 1000 pt games. Maybe we could start a new club or something.
