I think that the blue is looking great! Maybe if you feel up to doing another orkified rhino, it could be a BA rino with blue flames

Sorry for the huge delay in updates. I'm blaming work, and Fallout: New Vegas
Nearly done on the Hull now. I've finished the first highlight of the flames, they're really bold now. I also found an bonus side effect of using GW Blood red: It goes thick and clumpy very easily and doesn't have the best covering abilities. While this would probably be quite frustrating, and require many thin coats if I were doing a pristine BA Rhino, it does a great job of looking like it's been haphazardly slapped on by an ork over the original Rhino colours. All the Handrails have been painted, and I've put another black wash over the engine, and will finish with more highlights to make it look oily and well used. Then add a couple of exhausts and the main hull will be done. Which is good, as pay day has been and gone, and I've just taken delivery of some Forge World Skorchas and some Grot Sponsons. I can get to work on these when the hull is done.
I painted the bullet holes I drilled into it using boltgun metal and a tiny spot of Mithril silver in the centre. I decided not to wash these so they look quite new.
Just highlights and a few details and the engine will be done.
I'm going to do an extreme highlight of orange on parts of the flames, then it's a few details, and another couple of washes on the tracks.
Then I can move on to the weapons and hatches.
@Commander Cain - I have a friend who has a BA force. This is indeed my plan for my next looted Rhino!
Thanks for the comments, I'll (hopefully) have more pictures very soon, and should be able to finish the whole thing as I have a week off.

Lovely job, I'll have to come and see it when the finishing touches are done. What's going in the two round bits in the top?
Please say it the grots.

Despite being embroiled heavily in New Vegas, I have managed a bit more progress.
I have just finished doing the weapon sponsons and the turret I made.
Thanks once again for reminding me about the Grot sponsons, they are perfect. After some initial procrastinating, I decided what colours I was going to paint them.
Gave them a liberal wash with black.
Then carefully drybrushed the washed boltgun metal with chanmail, highlighted the red with Blood red, then finally Macharius Solar orange. The blue got a light dusting of Space wolves grey.
The Skorcha turret was made earlier on, but I had to do some slight remodelling. It was made from a heavy bolter turret from a Leman Russ, with an ork plate cut from a piece of the trukk, something unidentifiable from the Rhino sprue, a very carefully cut off barrel and pipes from a Shoota/Skorcha combi weapon from a Nobs spue and the footplate of the Trukk's turret on top of it.
I did have issues with firstly anchoring the skorcha into the cuppola, and secondly, it falling out whenever the model got moved. So I found a simple solution: Use green stuff to stick the Skorcha to a 5 Pence piece, the glue it onto the top of the cuppola. Perfect fit and a perfect weight too.
Once again, a heavy wash of black.
Then highlight. Chainmail and finally Mithril Silver on the barrel, Burnished gold on the brassy bits. I weathered the end of the Skorcha with a drybrush of scorched earth and then Chaos black.
Pictures of them attached very soon...

Right, the glue has set, I've done those tiny details, I just need to put one more black wash on the tracks and I'm done.
I think.
This is what I have now. I highlighted the engine again, with chainmail and mithril silver. I didn't highlight the red on the engine with orange, I'm hoping the engine has a darker, oilier look than the rest of the body work. The red had an extreme highlight of orange, finished the fuel drum, and finished and put the exhaust back on. I do have to dig out and paint another warbike exhaust for the front but that's the main part done.
Also note how perfectly the sponsons fit to the doors!
I've taken pictures from as many angles as possible, sorry if some are blurry.
Next: The Skorchas I've received from Forge World.
Hell yeah!! And I have to find a hatch or cuppola or something for the other hole in the roof, but I have further plans for that...
Thanks for the c&c, hope you like it so far, because I'm pretty chuffed with it to tell the truth!

You need another hatch ring or something, anyone know how many you get in the standard Rhino kit? If it's two then there'll be a spare one soon enough. You could chop the hatch doors up to make it look like they were pried open when it was nicked.
