don't worry kid, it might scatter into a shrub or something and bounce somewhere else instead.
...maybe if it took half the game turns to dig itself out of the crater it makes when it lands umpteen tons into the ground at orbital entry speed?
Retro-thrusters perhaps? Otherwise SM drop pods would just smash themselves and everyone in them appart when they landed.

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live? |

Then they wouldn't be coming down that fast. Just unloading a titan would take a heckuvalot longer than a whole game, unless they just have a giant seatbelt harness they can click with their huge unwieldy gun arms... like the marine-sized pods only bigger? or does the titan just take a seat on the bench inside and hold on to something?

Retroactively applied infallability is its own reward. I wish I knew this years ago.

Same way a dreadnought is belted in presumably.
I imagine its bolted down with explosive bolts for fast release.

Titan drop pods exist in the fluff.
It takes entire tech-priest crews an extended period of time to unpack it.
There is no way for a drop pod like you want to exist without completely butchering the fluff.

I can kind of see the appeal of this. but i think it would work better as a scenario rather than a normal drop pod.
E.g:
Space marine titan has drop podded down and it will take 3 turns to unpack it. Chaos team has this long to take the objective and win the game before the titan comes into play.

One of the last short stories in "Let the Galaxy Burn" has a few pages discussing Titan Drop Pods. I don't recall any weapons, but it may have had a void shield. They are manned and actually prepare the Titan during its slow and controlled descent. Titan's aren't just 'dropped' into combat. They are vulnerable for a brief time after landing.

It wouldn't be feasable in the 40K world.
The only reason Marines are able to use Drop Pod assaults is that their superhuman metabolism and their Power Armour is just enough to keep them alive and conscious. They are still on the verge of blacking out and suffering permanent damage through the G-forces.
Humans would be killed. Titan crews would not survive it. And the Titan itself would likely be severely damaged at worst, at best it would require some time to readjust itself and assess any damage.
Look at it this way, if you got kicked out of a third floor window in a wheelie bin and forced out as soon as you'd hit the ground, would you be in any fit state to do anything bar stagger and vomit?
Titans have mass transporters, slow-moving shuttles. As HungryTaz mentioned, they're sacred, ancient relics due masses of respect. Rather than shot out of a big gun...

A drop podding titan sounds cool, but as already mentioned, fluff wise, it's not very practical. Maybe instead of a drop pod have a large transporter (only model the front) land on a board edge determined by a scatter dice? that way it could turn up closer to the battle than the pilots wanted, but not in a position to instantly step on half your opponenets army.

You could always just drop the empty pod with no deceleration and just wipe out a huge area
