Very good and informative battle reports here. Normally I don't like to reserve units without a way to bring them in early (i.e. astropaths, hive commander, autarchs, etc.), but in these battles, they seem to work out for you.

The razor-spam BA looked especially brutal. I was thinking you would probably lose that but instead, you did well against it. Nice job. But I have a question on the battle against the dual-DP CSM army. I believed you shot the DP with a hex-rifle and then he died. Does the hex rifle causes Instant Death? Because HQ daemon princes are Eternal Warriors.

Can't wait to sink my fangs into the new DE with my Space Wolves. From reading these batreps (and others), they seem to be a pretty strong army. This is what I've been playing recently (wonder if it will make you go "...well, how am I gonna deal with this?" ):

Rune Priest - Chooser, Living Lightning, Jaws
Rune Priest - Meltabombs, Living Ligtning, Murderous Hurricane
Rune Priest - Living Lightning, Tempest's Wrath

2x "Rifleman" Dread - 2x TL-Autocannons

"...Very good and informative battle reports here..." thank you very much... "...The razor-spam BA looked especially brutal. I was thinking you would probably lose that but instead, you did well against it. Nice job..." and thanks again...

"...But I have a question on the battle against the dual-DP CSM army. I believed you shot the DP with a hex-rifle and then he died. Does the hex rifle causes Instant Death? Because HQ daemon princes are Eternal Warriors... When a model suffers a wound from a Hexrifle it must take a Wound test = if it fails then it is removed from play (not an ID weapon)...

This is what I've been playing recently - wonder if it will make you go "...well, how am I gonna deal with this?..." I like the looks of it - maybe we can get a game in sometime (either on the circuit or if you're in the PA / NJ area)

i am happy to see someone committed to using voidravens, and if you keep up the success with them, they may yet win their way into my army.

they really can put out an astonishing amount of firepower. it would be hard pressed for 3 vindicators to do over the course of a game what the ravens did in one turn to those orks (this is of course assuming a competent ork player )

Question: have you played against an IG player yet? I would be really interested in seeing how that works out for you

There are plenty of lists that can be tailored to beat Toxic's army. Hydra Spam and Krakwolves come to mind, i would be interested to see how this list (or a similar one) performs in a tournament setting.

That being said, i would expect the VRBs to do some serious damage to Hydra batteries if they could get some side shots on them. In a guard army with 6 or more hydras, the str7 shatterfield missles can be employed as an anti tank shot as well, especially if you can manage a shot onto side armor.

Against my friend's semi-mech IG list but at 2500 points ... support units added (2 units of Incubi for example - plus others) = lots of debris but when the dust settled the VBs remained intact and the Incubi units had way more pain tokens than needed.

No arguement there - and its funny because when lists do tailor against one type of build, they often become vulnerable to all of the others...

Against DE - I would play and deploy aggressively first turn. Deny them their alpha strike turn 1. Force or play the game for the turn one die roll. 50% of the time it'll go in your favor.

Any chance you could give us a quick snap of a voidraven? I'm dying to know what they look like.

I think I'm going to have to go through trying to make one out of plasticard...

Bravo, sir. I am following this with great interest as I restart my favorite 3rd edition army.
