You'd still be able to run. You just couldn't move first.

You also couldn't run if you didn't have a gun. How does that make sense?

This is a common point that confuse people. If doing A prevents you from doing B you did not have to be able to do B in order to do A.

This applies to open topped, fast or any other kind of vehicles as well.

humbug²
Fire ports apply to open topped? since WHEN?
try checking the apropriate paragraph the one named 'OPEN TOPPED'
or at least amuse us with an attempt at proving that fire ports = open topped , go ahead

edit:
ps. sorry for the agressive tone but this isn't the first time you gloss over this capital detail, it's time to come up with the goods

Because "fire points" is the only part in the rules that lets you fire from a vehicle. If you dont want to fire from a vehicle, feel free to disregard it...

Fire point rules apply to vehicles. The open-topped rules just say that you don't have specific fire-points and everyone can fire. Nothing says you can ignore the other restrictions.

This: open-topped tells us in it's rules that the whole vehicle is the Fire point.
Just the same as it tells us the whole vehicle is an access point(exact same wording).

If you decide that an open topped vehicle doesn't have fire-points and therefore doesn't have to follow their rules, then it also doesn't have access points therefore the only way to get a unit inside is to deploy them there, and the only way to get that unit out is upon destruction of the vehicle(via emergency disembark for Destroyed:Wrecked results; of unit placement for explodes).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
