I love them, they are not a heavy assault unit, they are good when used to boost banshees or assaulting anything that been doomed. When used to tip the balance they are great....when used alone they don't do a ton. The Laser Lance has the Lance Rules in shooting and the Exarch can have the S8 one...so BS5 S8 AP4 Assault one Lance can pop armor well and in an Assault the Exarch has 3 Attacks at S8 and Power Weapons so hit rear armor and cut up MC's it is really nice....and he's I6 and rest of the unit is still S6 not to bad....

i wont play that competative but i will try to get a full warwalker squad and go 2prism or maybe a prism and wraithlord. im thinking a combination of footy and mc based army

One thing i forgot to add, make sure you ENJOY what you are playing. Even if the units are underpowered.

I love the wraithlord model because its so awesome but the reason i am playing eldar in the first place is simply because it feels right to me. Its the only 40k army that really spoke to me as an army. My favorite models are inevitebly the mcs and walkers so i will get a foot/mc army with a farseer and avatar as hq choises and considering that i will mostly play planetstrike missions the wraithlord and avatar are obvius since i can deepstrike them and they have 2D6 armor penetration they will be awesome bastion busters.

If you want to include WraithLords and Avatar of khaine it might be a good idea to go full FootSlog.

The general theme is something like this:

Fortune seer (optional, but makes avatar more resilient)
Avatar

Banshees / Harlies as counterstrike unit

Many guardian Squads (made fearless by avatar)
Possible wraithguard squad

Wraithlords

my current army is 2x10 guardian squads 1x5 dire avenger squad 1 war walker 1 wave serpent and one warlock

Autarch with farseer and 5 spears in a jetbike army can do alot of damage.

3+Reroll cover save witg power weapons can take down mech or any squad.

Council with no warlocks.

In the right envioronment shining spears can play a unique roll.

Issue is, that right environment is few and far between.
A farseer can only fortune the squad when he's not with it. So he's not gonna be anywhere close to them afterwards.

In which case it's an Autarch and Spears.
Either way they are there mainly as counter assaulters...that's a waste of a power frankly.

If they are in range to be meltad/plasmaed they can be charged, which is worse.
If the farseer is with them, then they can't use hit and run if purchased.

As for taking down mech with their lances...that's a death sentance which may not pay off if the opponent has moving vehicles that will likely have you hitting on 6's.
