I ran a half bike SM army recently against orcs. Normally I normally don't bother with power weapons on my sergeants. My opponent just had alot of boys and a nob with a big choppa.
7-8 or ork bikers vs 5 SM bikers and an attack bike in CC.
Thanks to armor rolls and toughness 5, that fight went on for 4 rounds. It only ended when I charged in two more attack bikes. If either of us had used power weapons, it would have been over in two rounds max.
The problem with this, is the ork player should of known better to take a PK nob with anything boyz mob. You just dont run boyz without a PK

Thanks, fellas, for all the advice.
I included the trukk boys in the list for additional fast-troop choices; strangely enough, after a year of looking at & pondering over the Ork Codex, it wasn't until today (with the cranky aid od some) that I noticed it was mobs (the pural) of bikerboys that may be taken as troop choices! Wow, that just changes everything.
Don't know about the cybork bodies. I see the utility, but my inner tightwad wants to say no to it.
Perhaps I'm acting unorthodoxly, but I want to keep the grots. I really truly believe that nineteen grots have a place in almost every list.

Invest your troop slots with the biker boyz, and then bring in the deffkoptas for the fast attack slots.
Your elites should contain Lootas. They are static, but they work well at poping transports.

Right, I was thinking the same. My only fear is that it might violate the "theme" thing.....

Do not argue me on that one. If you do want to keep the "theme," I would insert the three elite slots with min squad nob bikers, each with different weapons or options to mess around with wound allocation (at least one powerklaw). Then take a biker boss and use the troop slot for nobs on bikes and make that a large unit of nob bikers- 5-7 would be a good number. The short version is if you can max out the troop slots, HQ slots, elite slots, and the fast attack slots, that is 14 units of bikers running around, each with at least a powerklaw for murdering opponents in close.

I wouldn't dare! And actually, I was thinking the the Lootas may violate the theme. How do you feel about a smallish to medium size unit of Stormboys?
I'll post my update list in a bit, with all your suggests considered.

I would say so. He's got a great gun (STR8 Assault 4!) and he's got a PK (I think) making him STR 10, making him great against termies, LRs etc. For a biker army, he fits the bill perfectly.

Anybody have any examples of modeling Wazdakka (or any bike conversations, really), which they would be willing to post & share?

Agreed.
Wazdakka's pretty good in the sense that he can probably pop a tank with his dakkakannon (which is twin linked iirc, adressing an earlier problem in the thread) and then assault the contents of said tank. Though his biggest asset is making bikers troops, which means, imo, you can't take a bike list without him.
I think deffkoptas would fit into the list, and would be good if you gave them buzzsaws and/or TL rokkits to go around hunting tanks.
But, yes wazzdakka is very good! Include him in your army! Automatically Appended Next Post: thunderingjove wrote:Anybody have any examples of modeling Wazdakka (or any bike conversations, really), which they would be willing to post & share?
If you have the cash, the FW warboss is a great model and is perfect for using as wazzdakka, but other than that i don't have any ideas on how to model him myself. I do remember though, that someone here on dakka, made a wazzdakka model and his bike had three wheels and was made out of a trukk mostly. Try searching P+M for it.

Actually the dakkakannon is not twin linked, you brought back the problem! It would just be nasty if it were tl
I don't currently have enough bikes to put together an all bike army but if I did I would definitely take him, he just looks too fun. I am thinking of turning one of the few bikes I do have into him and running him in a mech list for some fun games. I inadvertently modeled a nob biker with a cool power klaw and a nice looking bike that looks a lot like the pic in the book, I just need to switch the head out for one with the pony hair deal and upsize the guns on him and it'll be good. No pics though, no camera.

Wazzdakka is very good if your doing a biker army, just remember not to spam biker too much, MSU bikes is fine.
I'd take some fire support, like Buggies, Lootas, Kaanons, or Kanz, massed dakkagun fire wrecks infantry, so you just need to be able to wreck tanks.

Well, the dakkagun can crush some foes, but they are not so awesome against MEQs though. I do like rokkit buggies though. Those things are seriously one of my fav units in the codex. Those are great for popping light tanks, and making a SM/ MC go bye bye. Those are what I send against a Carnifex for sure. Usually 1 turn, sometimes 2 its a dead bug

Yeah, my 1850 point list for Wazdakka & his bikerboys are coming together. I have small units of lootas, mid-sized a unit of diversified koptas, and a full unit of rokkit buggies. Each support, I imagine, plays a different role, but I wonder whether the koptas are superior on account of its various scout rules.
