Well i am a very new player and only got two games on my belt. But it's two wins so it ain't that bad
Anyway the best game memory i have was my very first game!.
I was against my friend who plays as Space Marines and as meny people do they underrestimate the power of Boyz! As i charged directly into his Assault Squad he came to realize how powerful Orks can be. With some lucky rolls i took out his entire Assault Squad in my turn!
I must admit that his face when that happent. It was.. Priceless!
But i also learned how powerfull ordinary boyz could be. I had no idea how amazingly awesome they could be in close combat

Back when Tau first came out, my buddy loved them. Couldn't get over how great their shooting was. I foot slogged my Deathwing army at his, lost everything except my Master of the Deathwing and two or three terminators, then went through his army like a buzz saw when I got in assault range.

Boosting Black Templar Biker
|
Back in 3rd Ed. I was running my BT under Armageddon rules. I was completely getting slaughtered for the first 3 turns, had only a handful of models on the table. I took my Force Commander and Emperor's Champion and charged a blood thirster (by themselves) once they killed him (2 rounds of combat) they sweeping advanced into a Demon Prince (or some other MC) and wiped him out. I'm pretty sure everyone in the store was standing around cheering for my two lonely black templars dispatching the foul demons back into the warp. It was awesome... my ego tripled that day
I dont remember the outcome of the game, but the moral victory was definitely won.

Been playing a while, with several different armies, its hard to choose so i'll post three. The good, the bad, and the lucky.
-----
Charging in against some marines with a unit of 6 freshly summoned deamonettes (3E where a 6 to hit with rending was auto wound, no save) not the most inspiring charge... Rolled my 18 dice to hit...
-----
Deamon prince (3E) and his chaotic minions are waging a turf war against a rival princes force. The battle is blow for blow, quick, bloody, and ruthless. There is not much left, it appears the deciding combat shall be between the 2 deamon princes themselves. The Deamon prince of the word bearers legion soars aloft on his wings to land at the feet of his rival, bellowing as he charges in.
I pick up the dice, roll to hit...
-----
Apocolype. Teams arn't split into good vs. bad and i end up (with my Eldar) teaming up with Dark Eldar and Orks. Theres quite a bit of ground to cover as the scenario we were playing was a 36" no-mans land. After some tactical discussion it falls to me, having both fast and durable transports to operate as a distraction (how un-Eldar-y) to let the lighter ork and DE vehicles close the distance. So, we get the first turn and i have two Falcons, I fortune them up and move them flat-out directly up the middle of the board. In the shooting phase i ignite the star engines to go another 11", leaving me 1" away from the enemy lines. As bait i places in one, Eldrad with warlocks, in the other, Yriel and fire dragons. If they took out the falcons, those units would be easy pickings and become a bragging point amongst the group. I finished the turn waiting gravely for the outcome.
I didn't even count the shots that came at me, countless autocannon rounds, krak missiles and lascannon bolts from the guard flank began to slam into my precious tanks. At the same time from the other flank came the withering hail of shells from the chaos marines. A rhino actually parked up in front of me with melta-havocs scrambling out to line up, along with the chaos lord and his terminator retinue advancing to finish off any survivors. And the eventual outcome?

Thought of one, which is amusing to me since I'm starting a Tyranid army.
Playing against my friend who had units of Hormagaunts so large, that instead of moving the entire unit, he would measure 6 inches in front of his unit, and move the back half of the unit to the front. And needing to do this every turn, for multiple units.
The annoying part is my army is going to have multiple huge units of Hormagaunts. So I'm going to be doing the same thing.
Also, going into a grand opening, and watching my friend use 2 'buy 2 get one free' tokens to buy 6 Eldar Battleforces, then proceeding to not do anything with them for about 5 years.

Probably playing a blod angels player, I positioned two rhinos like so: \ \ / / I placed 5 tac marines at the small end. then a 10 man assault squad on the right, ready to sweep in. So this was the picture... \ \ o / / A ......O (Ignore the dots.) O= my tac squad o= his two remaining 5 man tac squads and his HQ A= My assault squad with my chaplain He took my bait and the combat drew 1-1. I swept in with my assault marines and surrounded him. I won the combat, he failed his LD test and had to run...but he couldn't > . That gave me 4 KP... 2 for his HQ 1 For one 5 man squad 1 For one 5 man squad

My fondest memory is a tie:
One was a BFG play, in the first turn I exploded a Chaos Despoiler and knocked down the shields of my friends flagship with a single shot. I think I rolled like, five 6's in a row.
The second, was my Tyranid Warriors shooting 20 Devourer shots at my opponents Thunderwolf cavalry squad and doing 17 wounds. We pretty much just stopped playing and went to have a coffee break and called the match on account of universe-rending probability breaking.

Mine comes from when I played chaos space marines. the last codex
in a tournament held at the store i played at.
I was facing IG
his strategy was to shoot me with motars and make me take pinning tests so he could shoot me to death and I told him every unit in my army was fearless
and he got angry and told me my army was cheap and broken. so right then I lose some respect for him.
so the objective was too capture an item he started the game in control with. so I was the attacker.
well i ran across the board taking a few hits and I managed to get my Daemonprince and bloodthirster on him and instead of capturing the item, I completely wiped his army off the table I was so happy.
AND!!!! he had the nerve to stand up and look at me right in the eye and he told me "I can't believe I just lost to someone like you!"
but all it did was make my victory even better
Another funny game was with my current SM codex I have a scout model that looks like George Bush (my sisters BF painted the model's face and gave it to me so i painted the body) and I never changed the face because I thought it was funny and always thought it looked like Bush.
well I faced my friends IG army and he played that desert hero (the one that outflanks) so I told him he was a terrorist and Bush came to destroy him.
so after some laughing and him talking a ton of trash about how he was going to destroy Bush.
I had managed to run bush directly into his outflank and I have no idea how but he lived through about 3 lascannons and a ton of lasgun fire and bush managed to get into close combat with like 1 surviving scout. I won the game in the end and bush survived! with Mr terrorist dead!

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood. |

Another two awesome memories of mine:
1. I had lost all of my kroot but one, who had somehow passed all of his morale checks. He's getting pursued by a squad of termies with storm bolters (only three were left), so I decided that absolutely nothing was going to be accomplished by running, so I decided to assault. With one kroot. Killed all three terminators and put two wounds on a SM captain before he finally killed it. That was the luckiest kroot FETHING EVER!
2. Not all that great, but it was kinda funny at the time. A tac squad was firing at my squad of kroot (these guys like getting shot up, huh?). My friend knows he'll probably finish off the four remaining ones in the next turn, so he says "those kroot are screwed, dude". I simply say "No they're not." and jetpack in a battlesuit, and proceed to kill the entire 5 man squad over the next two turns. The kroot and the battlesuit survived the rest of the battle.

Legendary Master of the Chapter
|
I was talking to shrike about this. But this will be by far my most favorite memory.
I had an army of characters, my entire collection.
15 Libarians
10 Honor Guard
12 Captains
5 Chaplains
2 Chapter Masters
2 Inqusitiors
2 Forge Masters
3 Tech Marines
2 Chief Librarians
At least 7 captains have relic blades, 3 have thunder hammers, 2 have lightning claws.
Both Chapter Masters have Relic Blades
15 Librarians have storm bolters all have might of heroes/ avenger. +30 +60
90 Attacks. Just from the Libbys then The bonus from the flag +15
105 ATTACKS ALL NO SAVES JUST FROM THE LIBBYS!
Chapter Masters 10 Attacks
50 Attacks from honor guard
All have a +4 invul save due to libbys using force dome.
5 chaplains +5 attacks +15 base
20 attacks
5x 12 = 60 attacks no saves from the Captains
2x 4 8 +2 10 +10
20 Attacks from the Chief Librarians
3 x 3 9 12
12 attacks from the Tech Marines
Lets do the math shall we!
275 attacks. All no saves. I have played with this before it is absolutely devastating. This is worth around 4k points. And I have all the models too XD.
It defeated a Green Tide in 1 freaking turn.
My store said I could use my entire collection. So I did.
In 4th edition I had a 2x better list but they got rid of it XD
I have only ever used this once. In my Entire Hobby Career. And IT was FUN! And No one won the battle. I had a total kill count of over 890. I lost 1 company of marines. And combine that with all of my allies kill counts we hit over 2,000 (Mostly orks and tyranids) killed and we lost 1,500 (mostly guardsmen).
And another interesting thing is we had a rematch 1 year later. And At this time I had the 10th company out and I we basically had a war of who can survive the longest. Sadly me and my opponent could not finish the battle as both of us had slaughter each other and we called it a tie as we both saw that it was our 7th turn and we both had no troops, elites, hq, or heavy support left on the field. All I had was a single assault squad and he had a single squad of tyranids that could do nothing as they were stuck in impassible terrain. And his units were out of range of my squad. And with nothing to do we called it. It was a fun game. Me and my Opponent took the respect of completely owning each other on the battle field. Unfortunately I have not seen him for a very long time.
I love those types of games. No problems, no bickering, just play and have fun and crack jokes about the Tyranid biomass and the Space Marines love for candy.

I can't really say that I have a single favorite memory of a game, but I do have a couple really memorable moments.
I was in a game against the highest ranked player in the league (at the time I was among the lowest, partly due to luck, partly due to tweaking my army and figuring out what worked and what didn't). So of course, I assume I'm going to lose horribly like everyone else has. I managed a minor victory against him, which skyrocketed my points, but what really made the game memorable was the first turn of the game. Back then I was still running a Dreadnought bomb (Dreadnought in a drop pod with a multi-melta, drop him in right next to the enemy and blast his big, heavy unit turn one) and was about to take it out due to ineffectiveness.
Turn one starts, I'm going first. I plop down my drop pod in front of his Plasma-cutioner, roll a hit on the scatter die, and put my Dread in such a position that he's getting a side armor shot. Shooting phase - fires (hits), penetrates, blows the Russ up, killing a good 15 guardsmen (including a few out of his command squad) and causes the aforementioned command squad to run off the board edge along with a heavy weapon team. I think his jaw actually hit the floor after losing that much in one shot.
The next memorable moment that I had was in a game against Daemons. Throughout the game, I had been getting mauled in various ways by his Soulgrinders, failing every shot to kill them. The last turn rolls around, and I decide to take one more shot. My predator just barely (like, it could see maybe 5% of the model) had line of sight around a forest and to the side of a building. Takes the shot, hits, and my opponent fails his save. 6 to pen, 6 to explode, one dead grinder. That one wasn't memorable so much in how it happened as it is the reaction - we've started calling it the ricochet shot from hell.
The last one I've got was the most recent. My buddies and I were playing what is essentially Left 4 40k (Left 4 Dead crossed with 40k). The important thing to know is that if a character dies in close combat, you can put him out of his misery or roll a die. On a 1-4, the character dies and turns into a zombie. On a 5, the character dies, but manages to pull a frag grenade just before he does. And on a 6, he pulls a knife out of his boot, stabs the zombie in the head, pulls out his sidearm and blasts everything that dealt him a wound in the close combat.
What went down was that my choice of character was two marines (Given a choice of one Terminator, two Marines, three Stormtroopers, four Veterans, or five Guardsmen). And wouldn't you know it, they both died in the same assault, so I opted for the roll. I rolled a six for the first one (so he kills everything in reach and stays alive). Since I fully expected the second one to just die, I rolled it almost jokingly - and lo and behold, another six pops up, meaning that both of my guys stay in the combat. It was a really awesome way to start the game off, even though in the end I lost both of 'em to bolter fire.

Drop Trooper with Demo Charge
|
My best moment, or rather moments are from two games against my best friend who I have known for many years and who got me into 40k, with his SW's.
The first one was round about my forth game I ever played. Back then there was no real place to go play and meet new gamers (so we though) so there was a few of us at our friends house. Anyhoo, it was the third turn and he was about to charge my fw's with his HQ (cant remember the exact details of his HQ) so I sent in a squad of gun drones in to meet them to try and stop them from munching me. 2 turns of cc leaves all of his models dead and three of my seven drones floating! It ended in a draw of objectives, but even to this day we still laugh at that moment.
The second time was at our club (when we eventually found out that there had always been one at the same and only place that we all buy our models from in Cape Town, thank you Wizards for your lack of advertising...). Four of us playing a huge game of 15000pts each, I was allied with a DE player with my new and unpainted IG army, while my friends SW were with a experienced IG player. Cant remember which turn, but one of my IG squads killed four of his termies with lasguns, bolt pistol from the Sargent, and a plasma gun shot! It ended up with all four of us having a good laugh and talking about it for weeks.
I wish that I still had that kind of luck in more games though, maybe starting my ork army fethed of the Dice-Gods or something.
