I never liked that concept to be honest. According to the that, Mephiston would be declared a traitor because even in an unarmed sparring match he would mop the floor with any GK, including Stern.

I think Meph is in another case altogether
He is probably the "Anomaly" not the exception made
Meph also can let himself get mauled until the Grey Knight says it is over, he probably he will feel less of a thing

I think Calgar would win in fluff terms, He is more experienced by a along shot, a big mother trucker with two powerfist which after reading alot of space marine novels from what I gather aren't that slow to get a hit in, also the storm bolters mounted under each. Also his Termi armor fluff wise would be pretty difficult to crack as the proto types in Horus Heresy series took ungodly amounts of fire and only peeled the paint off IRC.
Tabletop terms I cannot say but from someones previous post i gather that Stern seems to have the advantage in that department

because it's an old codex.
FW used to read "the bearer makes a psychic test. if passed any model that takes an unsaved wound is automatically killed regardless of how many wounds it has on its profile"
it is the same as Instant Death, but it doesn't cause ID. this was before there was a rule called ID. the rule was used, but it didn't have a fancy name.

Although Force Weapons are described in the main rule book they are also described in the DH codex.
it is there that the rules i described are detailed.

Going by the fluff. Calgar wins being the most Mary Sue of the two. After all, he beats just about anything. Stern would probably leave him with some boo-boos but hell everyone does. Calgar still wins apparently, he's just THAT mary sue

Ok, YMDC says that Calgar would be "slain outright," so mathematically speaking, Stern's chances of killing Calgar are slightly better than 3/4. Now, if Calgar pulls his trusty power sword rather than the gauntlets, he also has an excellent chance of killing Stern, since they strike at the same I. In short, neither wins, because they kill one another.

Stern has 3(IIRC) and Calgar has 5.
Stern really needs to pop him with his NFW because calgar will just grind him down if he fails.

E.g if Stern Failed to kill Calgar, he would be grinded to dust the next turn after.
