I have no confidence whatsoever that they even actually play a game for those battle reports. Really, it's taking things with cool models that GW wants to sell and then carefully positioning them to look awesome for a couple of blown-up pictures.

As far as I'm concerned, there isn't even a single die rolled.

I am certain this is the case. Sure they play a few games to make sure they aren't talking complete gak but then they end up putting models in the most aesthetically pleasing positions and then just write promotional gak to make the new army look better. As a red shirt told me the other day 'there is nothing wrong with White Dwarf of course the content is blatant marketing, but we still sell out every month, so who's the idiot us or the people that buy it' (this is a direct quote).

on the IG v DE report, the DE was always going to win to push the new models. The catachan army was pretty much the cupboard from warhammer world, although they could have taken a few more tanks. Main problem was deployment - and this from an "experienced" player - spread out your troops and heavy weapon teams all over the board with no support against a fast CC army. Brilliant ...

Complete with Dirty Dozen questionnaire that could net you a box of Last Chancers! "Where's Donald Duck?" Now that was a great issue that showed off some good Guard stuff.

Yes. The battle on the landing pad? That demo charge was devastating.
