Wait, it IS bs because theres several mods out there that are really good, and they do it for free by using existing game engines.

Books are pure story. They have no graphics, no budget, no illustrations and very little oversight. Because of this, they will almost always present a better story than a mixed medium like anime or video games.

When did it start? Pong is God but it wasn't exactly heavy on the plot.

Or at Indie games. They put out more originality than most of the mainstream developers, but the games are sadly of limited playability because the developers rarely have the money, and when some new developer does put out something good, one of the big three publishers buys them out and runs the company into the dirt (usually).

I don't know about all that. There's been plenty of innovative ideas in this generation of console games. They've pretty much perfected motion sensitive gaming,starting with the Wii and moving towards a completely controlerless system with the Kinect. The Mass Effect series introduced the concept of creating a character for a game,then being able to continue your character's storyline through the other games in the series and having the decisions your character made in the previous games affect things in the new ones. Heavy Rain is one of the best and most innovative games I've played in years. There's good games out there,and there's bad ones,too. There's new and innovative games,and then there's great games that keep getting overly spammed/rehashed/spit back out over and over again,like the Guitar Hero and Call of Duty franchises.

As for mods,creating a mod for a game is nowhere as difficult or labor intensive as creating a game from scratch. There are some good mods out there,but there's also a ton of really crappy mods out there,too.

Whilst I would respectfully disagree with you about video games (though, I suppose I'm not that 'into' them anymore), I agree with you qbout anime, especially the part about it detracting from a good storyline.

For instance, one of my favourite animes is Rosario+Vampire. Now, if you're familiar with this show, bear with me as I'm going off series 1 alone. During normal Moka's transformation into Vampire Moka, the entire transformation scene basically revolves around her 'womanly' parts being accented (yes, her personality changes and she gets increased strength, but that isn't shown in the scene. It's also very hard to follow the dialogue because every second moment you're getting an upskirt of one of the female charectors-especially Vampire Moka, which is a shame because she has the potential to become one of the most interesting charectors in the show. Now, I'm not denying she isn't beautiful. Or that her voice is sexy. Or...

It's okay in drawn and computer animated medium they can make women who are ten times more appealing to men than any real woman could ever be simply due to physics. (most anime women would fall over and snap in half)

also something to point out

Theres nothing wrong with adding a little to entice people to watch your show but not at the expense of actual character developement.. I mean look at it this way

Pron
-Little to no Plot Development
-little character development
-Exciting sequences
-Highly sexual content
-Nudity

New trend in anime and game (trends don't mean 100% of them just a general motion in that direction)
-Little to no Plot Development
-little character development

notice what's missing, it's basically a striptease.... you might as well just skip and go straight for the prons.
