Heh, for someone like me who isn't too bothered about small scale differences (I use lots of different eras of GW dwarves in my army and sometimes in the same unit, and to me it looks fine) these would be an excellent starting point for an empire army, if I was so inclined. Not massively fond of the plastic plugs on their feet, is all.

I know Dave Taylor told me he was using them for a empire army so I think it is easily doable. The puddle base is fairly common amongst historicals, but is easy to cut back.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Ok its finally on their main website now. Gave a historical description of them
Designed to be used for the bulk or part of many european armies such as Burgundy, Switzerland, France, the Holy Roman Empire, the Low Countries, Italy, late 15th century Spain and mercenaries fighting for both sides during The Wars of the Roses.

Been a while, for those who pre ordered, the boxes should be shipping now
As you can see, Steve May has painted up a unit of Burgundian pikemen (and according to the 1472 ordinance which prescribed them to carry targes). I should be able to show a couple of complete boxes painted up on TMP before Christmas, with any luck.
I've just about finished a number of metal Swiss heads, which will be able soon to be used in conjunction with the plastic box for a more 'Swiss feel'. Also a bunch of metal early Tudor soft-hatted heads which would cover the 1490-1520 period.

Those are really nice. I kind of wish I had a use for them as I really like more historic models, and these are just lovely and understated.

Aye these are awsome I dare say. I was getting phone calls last night about them from people wanting to order. Once they do a little more into the 100 years war I think I will start collecting myself.

Regarding the swordsman's position, the Perrys make reference to this on their inserted information sheet for the European Mercenaries as a figure "using the German Thalhoffer technique of fighting."
