Ive made a few little brick walls by cutting them into small brick shapes and glueing together a wall. My blood angel jump marine happens to be stood on a small section of wall i made with em. Only problem ive got is they do look too much like sprue bits to make a convincing wall haha

I hope you're happy Runer, I spent a good five minutes today staring at a old crumbling wall on my way to work. Just trying to figure out if I could make it look convincing with sprue. Then I spent the rest of the day going through which colours I could use on it in my head.

Curse you!

nice tutorial! as you can see, I tried it out, and it worked out pretty well!

I planning to make them for skaven, but since I don't have skaven (yet), I used a red moon goblin to show ho big (or small) it is. (still needs to be painted)

height: 3 cm
length: 4cm

I'll post some more pictures soon!

The next section of terrain is done, I had some suggestions to add a weight to the end but I think I'm going to make aq proper check point later. Anyway here it is.

And again the two terrain pieces together.

That looks nice too! I just finished two more fences, same size. I'm planning to make 7 more, so you can make on big line, or a circle, and a lot more options! Thumbs up for empty sprues!

I'd had a few ideas for mine but I like the fence line image I saw up above. This is a goldmine. And my first thought with them was, this was part of the cost, I'm gonna figure something to do with them out. I was considering a building husk, make it look as if they are the remains of old stud work or supports for a building that was long ago totally burned up and the frame is all that remains.

Now I have some more cool ideas.

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

D: Oh how many sprues I have cleaned and tossed over the years... At least I saved my other bitz. I will start to keep these in a drawer somewhere. Maybe I could stretch some kind of cloth or plastic wrap over frames to make a primitive village or something. It does make epic urban terrain though, as you have shown. Back to the Manufactorum for me!

I just finished up with a landspeeder and just quickly chopped all the sprue up into the straight lengths. i'm eventually going to put together some barricades but its much easier to store them as lengths rather than the whole thing.

Awesome idea, I currently regret throwing out 30 Necron Warriors worth of sprues now.
Will DEFINATELY keep them from now on and make a whole lot of walls and junk out of them

Brilliant stuff if you are a gamer on a budget. I only use very small amounts of sprue on my terrain because if I use too much I just can't get over how much it looks like...... well sprues.

Thanks again for posting.

FIRST let me say i am not belittling this thread or making insults , but i DO find it surprizing that this is being seen as such a new thing . i was using sprues to make necromunda terrain and gorka morka forts when those games first came out . i stopped because i didnt have to tools to make the bases the way i wanted out of plasticard .so it went on my back burner , pushed further back by my getting out of GW games .

i got a table top band saw a couple months ago , and am catching up on some other projects , and want to get a couple more tools , but i have since changed my material of choice for base making to PVC FOAM BOARD as detailed in this thread : http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/332736.page

while i havent played WH40K since third ed first came out when i dropped it because 20,000 of my 60,000 points of painted chaos was no longer in my army list , and so i got out of the game , i still build the figs from time to time to ebay , or for my friends , so i still colloect sprueing . as such i have a small bin of sprue that i have cut into straight beams , and all the smaller seemingly unusable bits i have chopped up with my pewter snips into small rubble i can use when i FINALY get the sprue projects back on the front burner .

all that said , i do like the OP's projects , post some pics when you finally get them all painted and such
