OK! Well, after finishing up my painting contest entry, I had some time this weekend to devote to my Raptors and thier new wings! Not much time mind you, but some...

The transparent pen barrel will be the turbine jet similar to my last one with the scratch-made wings.

My question is, does the bottom of the wings look OK? If I keep them as-is, I plan to GS the gap between the wings and the back pack and make it flow a little better.
Or should I trim them off along the red lines as shown in the following pic?
Or....should I re-possision the the wings so they are coming out of the marine's back, and the Jet pack is on the back of the wings??

These wings are fantastically detailed! My ONLY gripe, is that they of course look sort of "alien" (duh!) instead of "demonic", but I think they'll work just fine!

Cutting them would be drastic, but the top wing position looks really good, and cutting them off would make it look better at the bottom, then try to put the cut off pieces at the bottom of the pack to finish it off. Also try your other option first, incase you don't need to cut anything

Looking good so far.

Well, I tried tacking the wings to the Raptor's back, then the backpack to the back of that...it was way too bulky, it was difficult to possision the wings the way I wanted to, and it made the wingspan to short.
So I did end up cutting the bottom portion off just above the little leg thing, then trimming the wing to look smother, then stuck them on. I like the look, of course this way means I need to smooth out the transition with GS, but I think it will end up looking pretty good.
Progress on the first one:

and here is the progress on the second one:

Well Dakka, what do you think? Any suggestions?

Didn't get as much done as I would have liked, but I did get the turbine fans for the jets started!

More tonight I hope!

I don't know if I am going to add teeth like I did with the first one...

Thoughts?
