There's some invaluable insight in that statement. More to that point, is there not anyone personal you could ask about this who might know you and maybe the other person well enough to offer insight into your dilemma? It's difficult to troubleshoot human interaction from words alone. No one else here knows you or the other person, so no matter how helpful anyone here would, or apparently wouldn't, like to be, it is hard to do so.

If you say hi and they slap you, they probably don't like you.

Unless it's on the donkey, in which case they like you a bit too much.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

And if they frotter your leg, they probably like you a little too much.

Do you have a click of girlfriends you can talk to about this?

If so I think they would be better qualified to answer than I.

You know, if 'click' wasn't phonetically equivalent to 'clique', I'd now totally start referring to women in groups as a 'click of women'.

Well lets face it, crazies just about sums it up very succinctly.

"`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Hey thats only funny once buddy! Work on new material!

Well if you want the lad to be your pal so much, seriously just ask him if you rub him the wrong way. Dont be so blunt as "Hey do you hate me or what?" Just, do I rub you the wrong way? Or something similar. If he says no, then just tell him, because you seem like a cool fella and I was just makin sure. Presto. Friends. Unless he says you do annoy him and he utterly hates you. Then.... at least it answers your question

There are a whole ton of non negative reasons for being withdrawn with one person as opposed to another.

In any group of friends there are likely to be those that one on one tend to be less chatty.
Happens with me for sure that I find it a lot easier to talk to some people and harder with others. I don't like one any more or less and no idea why it is. Just chemistry I guess.

KC pretty much has it imho
a subtle question is everything good sort of thing.

I gave you all of my useful advice.

To recap:

Decide if you actually care if he likes you, or doesn't. Have a candid conversation on the subject if you do.

Now, don't take much of anything you have heard here all that seriously. Step away from your PC and take a few moments to think about why you shouldn't care about random person A.

After that, consider why you shouldn't take me seriously either.

Random dude doesn't talk to you. It doesn't matter. Some people are introverted and not particularly interested in developing a bunch of random relationships with other people.

Where did you meet this fellow, btw?

You're not pretty much okay. You're absolutely awesome and it doesn't matter if you read into stuff that doesn't have anything to do with you.

Does it ever occur to you that two people in a family may play a wargame and ergo post on the same forum?
