Then they don't like you. You could always do what I do if i sense tension; have the "we cool?" Discussion.

Ask them if they want to have the sex. If they say no then ask again, but offer to pay. If they say no a third time than they don't like you.

quiet and doesn't really talk to anyone. will talk to you if you talk first and will occaisionally start a conversation with you but not often. and then the next day will ignore you. but will go and talk to someone else for twenty or thirty minutes. but that's only a couple of certain people.

Why do you care if they like you or not?

the answer to your last question is a resounding i'm not sure anymore. at first i think it was a challenge to get him to talk to me. now i think that i would like to actually be friends because i think we have a few things in common. and it's become a little bit of a fixatiion. but it's not a romantic crush.

You don't have to read someone to b friends with them. You talk, they talk, you talk some more, they do too.

If they are unresponsive and don't want to talk or are not willing to answer your 50th question inside 2 minutes maybe you need to breathe more.

You are saying that you are getting fixated upon trying to be friends with him, in which case you may be viewed as a psycho stalker. At you next meeting if he brings a baseball bat with him, don't say a word. Not one word.

This. If he doesn't seem to want to talk or continue a conversation after the initial question then maybe he just isn't interested. Possibly for reasons that have not occured to you.
Does he know that you have a husband? He may possibly want not be percieved as chatting up somebody else's wife.

This is sound advice right here.

I'm a quiet type. If I don't talk to someone it is because I have nothing to say (and if it is someone new, it is because I don't know them and have nothing to say).

Open on a subject I am interested in and I will talk to you.

Come back the next day and I might nod to you but I'm still not going to talk to you as I don't know you (unless we somehow managed to get on really well the first time we spoke - I'm still going to be pretty quiet/shy then still anyway).

You need to make an effort with quiet people, but need to ensure you are not trying too hard.

To be honest, asking this sort of question on a loud and proud nerd site is probably a tad optimistic.

Though having said that, if you do the opposite of the advice, it might just work.

Are you sure he's straight and unmarried? Prior to getting a ring on my finger I can't ever recall flat out ignoring a girl until I had positively confirmed that she was an absolutely intolerable bitch with no friends I was interested in. Hell even after the ring I still won't just ignore a woman completely.

1. I'm married. I believe he's single. Don't really care about that all that much to be truthful. It's more I just want to be friends.
2. One of the people that I know he talks to is another married woman. So me being married is not the reason.
3. I like the idea about going outside trying to make friends and killing everything that gets in my way. Though I have a feeling I'd take out a lot of stuff in my wake.

Well, if he doesn't talk to anyone, then it's probably not you. Some people just don't like being around other people. Others have problems talking to people, especially if they don't know them that well. I'm usually a pretty quiet person unless I have a reason to talk to someone. However, if someone started talking to me, I'd probably have no qualms about talking to them days after. There are exceptions to this. The time and place matters a lot too. When are you trying to talk to him? Is he trying to do stuff? Does he look like he's thinking about other things? It could just be that he's too preoccupied to have a friendly conversation.

I am starting to realize I've approached this in the wrong direction. I realize it says way too much about me that I care more about the opinions of people on the internet than what I believe about the situation.
