I'd say at least 5000. I have about half that in chaos right now, and I can't really imagine using it in Apoc.

I'd want to own at least 6 land raiders to play Apoc

It can really depend on the armies at hand, but I'd say anything over 2500pts you should just play Apocalypse. Anything higher than that and involving IG is going to very quickly get turned into a one-sided slaughter as the IG player can harness the full power of the Infantry Platoon and keep adding more dudes, tanks and guns, while their opponents struggle against FoC restrictions. At anything above 2500pts, most armies run out of FoC slots and you really need to bump up to Apoc.
