Right long time no Update. Apologies Neil.

First of all here's some Fluff, think it will be in two possibly three parts all of equal length. This is just an Intro and is sort of meant to be quite mysterious. Without further ado i give you the tale of the Dowager Empress and Tendulker Twice Damned, Archon of the Perverse Fist Kabal.

She stared, eye contact for a few seconds, her eyes then crept down him to survey his warsuit. The black lacquered plates, although clean, still bore the stains of cousin's blood and the arterial filth of Mon'keigh. Again she looked him in the eye, he couldn't help noticing hers, glowing bright blue as they augured into his own. She opened her mouth to speak. The beautiful visage suddenly shattered when a her cankered tongue ran slowly over yellowed teeth...

He awoke with a start, it was her again, as if she alone ruled sovereign in his dreams. Somehow she was part of his past, a past he refused to recall. Confused, he shifted in the bed to look upon his mate. The bed sheet hung loosely around her hips leaving her back bare to the voyeur walls. He tentatively pulled the sheet over her modesty and whispered,
'Why do we always sleep with our backs to those we love?' she turned to answer, woken by the familiar voice.
'A mystery for the ages' she said reassuringly, the same answer to the same question day after day.
He pivoted to rise to the day, he knew she had already resumed her slumber.

Limbs still slowed by sleep, he took a leisurely eight seconds to assume his modest overalls and fasten the robust sandals. Ready for the day he took a deep breath, purposely channelling the newly oxygen enriched blood to his brain, finally escaping drowsiness. He ran his hands down his forearms, the heavily calloused palms sliding noisily against perfectly smooth wrists. Feeling for the choicest fruit he took his pick from the bounty of the vine that hugged the bedroom doorway. The male bit into the breakfast fruit, the viscous pulp flowed along the billions of taste buds that covered his tongue; sweet to sour and all facets between. It was eaten gratefully as he would need the energy for the labours the day would bring.

The Grove stretched out before him, it ringed his homestead in a verdant perimeter, each flower hand pollinated, each bough heavy with the fruit to sustain the male and his partner. It resembled no earthly garden being not bordered or brutally truncated. Each plant grew in glorious liberty, unbent to meddling will but each one resplendent of it's own accord. He did not think such things of course, it was proper to take pride in one's work but not to dwell. He shouldered the compact tiller as he made towards the bare earth plot to be seeded this day.

After an hour or so of exertion he spied a rustling in the middle distance, a split second later it reached his ears. From the sound he immediately knew it was not the work of the wind. He thought of the others in his community close buy, often they traded specimens to be propagated, or livestock to be trained. He was viewed suspiciously by the rest, the male was not so elegant and slight of build; rip-chord muscles were barely concealed by his unusually pale flesh and his eyes bore an unearthly glow at night. He was told he was once a great warrior, once fighting for distant cousins astride the stars though ultimately choosing to forget his days of Honour and Glory. Some of that warrior spirit stirred within him as he considered the other possibilities entailed by the disturbance, perhaps it was a graceful Hind or a powerful Hwynnae to be tamed. The novelty of adventure and exploit gained the upper hand and he abandoned his plot for what would be the last time.....

Well if you just Scrolled through that here are some pictures, they aren't of the best quality but i just wanted to show i was progressing, albeit slowly.

One Blaster still to do and one of those cc guys is getting re assigned.

The first of my mostly finished warriors, i foolishly batched ten so had severe motivation probs with them, have still got to paint 8 splinter rifles and a darklance.

Just popped this in for a larf, found it in the folder and thought it looked pretty neato, if anyone has read my Guardsmen fiction this is probs what the Scions of Malignancy would look like.

The old man , sat enthralled as the young chronicler narrated his tale , " how is it possible ? this but mere boy , without the benificial years of wisdom , could conjure a story, so beguileing ?" The seasoned wordsmith's wonder was compounded by his ignorance , "what manner of man judges passion on age ?" , when true art is timeless...

good update , i see the "Deldar" have progressed some . they look very nice , they do deserve a nice photo though!

and nice touch showing the scions of malignancy .. red and bone eh..?

Thanks Neil and Kroothawk!

Okay fans of jes Goodwin, i did something terrible last night: I hacked into an incubi model! I winced as i sheared at it's arms with crude clippers but here is the result:

First before you click i want to explain myself. I think the incubi look a little dumb in pose, i took the matter up with a friend and we both agreed the way they are holding the 'Klaive' is impractical and not taking advantage of the strengths of the weapon. My friend is an highly advanced Tai Chi student and is experienced in several weapon forms, i decided to take some inspiration from this with the new pose i have chosen for the model. A few other points as well, i know currently the other arm is 1-2mm too short but i had just shoved it in to the blue tack, secondly i am assuming the shoulder pauldron articlates with the arm of the incubi as if it didn't he would be physically unable to swing it. Thirdly i see the klaive as some infinitely well balanced blade, perhaps utilising anti grav in the pommel, hence the one hand. I give you my elegant Tai chi Master Incubi. [BLUE TACK MOCKUP]

Spoiler:

this is my favourite pic, i love the way he is tilting his head to accommadate the blade, IMO adds alot of motion to the pose.

How could you do such a thing!
But really, it looks great, much more dynamic than the original.
I'm just missing the other handle, but i'm sure you will handle that.

seems i have not missed all too much^^ know that i´ve read through all of this thread i might as well shed some words from me ...

saw the first pic of your dark eldar...um thingies...jetbikes(?)
before i write further let me please explain a thing...:
i now next to nothing about the DE, and the things i do know brings me into a position to never play them myself...strangely the same reasons would aply to choas SM but i would try them...?!? well but this aside i am here only to chat about your art, as art is indeed not so heavy ladden with malice but more with beauty...and i see beuty here a lot^^

so back on topic and to your minis...you know get the full backlog treatment^^

i like the contrasting work you do...
the reaver jetbikes (?) look really good. though i understand in theory how you achieved certain effects i swear i wouldn´t be able to copy any of these techniques ever^^ the shading through layers looks very good, you worked with very nice colorvariants and have an eye for the colorsteps...
the mixzure of the bone part and the cucumber part is daring but very well pulled off...

your footsloggers of various design all have these nice shading effects on their armor, i greatly apreciate the female ones with the rather brighter raised parts like breasts and so forth^^ looks very god and shows how female they are^^

i like your idea to use a warhammer fantasy wizard for a stand in of a haem..(what?)... i have one sprue of some bits of these too and there are quite some DE looking heads there i see definatly some use for you...you should do more that way! great potential...
also i have this thought up while reading your blog here:
have you considered using a LOtR Sauron to go for a stand in mini for your DE? has this been done by others? i think some parts of his apearance would greatly fit the DE scheme...and i would love to see this mini in brighter colors...

i really like your go at the raider...this will be an astonishing model when completed...also i mused to myself that parts of this could be used for those interested to make a steamtank for fantasy...after all they quite to my knowledge the production of thsi tank...

one day i have to try a go at "bone" myself as your CSM looks really good, and i am all for effective looking with little effort^^

and lastly i see exactly what you tried to achive with your newest mini...the martial weapon arts in kung fu and wu shi do shine through this mini and its pose...for reference of the originla pose could you post a pic of this mini as it was original intended to be? this would help to better understand your dilemma and to finally your choice to hack this mini^^

again i have to say i have next to no knowledge about the DE but i also like your fiction... the fluff tho not understandable...as i lack the bigger picture know around^^ but nevertheless is a good read...and paints on the canvas of my mind a quite good and livid scene...

i will now be a regualr reader to this blog of yours...as this will surley broaden my horizon in no small way^^

cheers mate, vik

Thanks for the input Vik, the Sauron Idea is great! Am gonna take a closer look at that model now.

This is the original pose (there was another in the box). This is also the easiest of the incubi to convert

Spoiler:

In my opinion the diagonal of the blade combined with the sloping shoulders and lean of the legs makes him look over balanced almost as if he has been thrown the blade. Or is carrying it carefully at arms length like he doesnt want to break it. IMO looks dumb. EDIT this stance also has Zero combat effectiveness, where does he go from here? He could attempt a short sharp blow but this would have little power and the weight of the blade would be against him.

Thats a cool film that, love the leper king, both with and without mask (love a bit of the 'what's under the mask' reveal fright lol). How do you think it compares to the original stance?

the original mini is totaly meh to me^^ so you did a good job in sawing around^^ the stance i think resembled a defensive pose...whimpy to say the least...also the newer version: as i rember when doing woodcutting the amin thing is just heaving the axe and not the smashing... store the energy and then realse it freely and not push more into it, the weight of the blade does the cutting after all...so your pose is somewhat that storege of energy point in just before the relase...like a ball at its heigest point in a falling /tossing curve...(was that understandable?)

do it this would be so cool...and there are more mins of this chacter around with even bigger scale...so there are so many possible themes to use it for^^

thanks, i am sometimes a bit unsure of how to express my thoughts in another alnguage...and also the way to express my thoughts which are running zigzagging around in my head to pin them down by writing is sometimes quite hard in itself^^

i was unsure if DE have avatars as well but i thought that right from the start^^

Here's some more fluff. Pretty proud of this passage. The rebirth of Tendulker.

He had Fled her dusty throne chamber.... To escape her was all he had desired in that moment.....

The thick brush parted as he made his way through, no leaf fell and no branches were snapped. He entered a small clearing and came upon the source of the disturbance, Creeper-Weeds had claimed this spot. The slowly coiling branches shook as he approached, the vile plant sensed threat in the strongly built adult. The male spotted a slippered foot partially concealed by the seething mass, they withdrew as he approached. A youth with barely twenty years behind him was revealed, obviously having been caught by the plant. The boy held a small watering vessel in his left hand and his right had been cruelly gripped by the poisonous weed.

Something was strange about this encounter though, normally the weed would only attack in defence, such stings were rare amongst his people who all knew and respected the eccentricities of nature. Judging from the situation however, this had been unprovoked. The plant had went out of it's way to wound the boy, render him unconscious for the grim fate of digestion. Such an abhorrence could not be tolerated, this vicious mutation could not be allowed to proliferate. He looked to the blade of his plough ready to ensure this an evolutionary dead end.

The boy presented an obstacle to this, if he were still gripped during the weed's death throes it would flood him with poison, almost certainly sweeping his life away in the wake. The adult knelt before the boy gripping the weed where it constricted the adolescent wrist, it stung him to no avail 700 years, 1000 immunizations to it's venom. He looked to what gripped the boy; a gnarled perversion, a mockery of a fist in frond and function. It did not easily give, a sadistic defiance, something that seemed strangely reminiscent to the male.

He tugged at it, dug with his blade to purchase leverage. Frustration boiled over to anger, the heart of the adult beat faster; 3, 4 to 5 beats in a second. He let a smile etch his lips as unchained the beat continued 6, 7 and 8. He stabbed at the branch, yielding the reward of gushing vitreous foam. The boy was safe but no longer did the saviour know or care. The base pleasure of the kill a sudden prerogative, no an imperative; not merely to thrive but to survive. He snapped the once farm tool over his knee rending the spar into a pair of splinter sharp shards better to inflict his sudden rage.

Stabbing, cutting, sawing. If the semi sentient plant could feel pain it would be begging for its life. The eldar male felt the adrenalin coursing through his veins, he had broken the teachings and rules of his mentors on this world. Neurons flared incandescent as they coruscated down forbidden pathways, surging into the regions of his brain that had lain dormant all this time. Clarity reigned in the confusion of 10,000 memories. Tendulker recalled and in that instant renewed his old life.

So many worlds scourged, so much blood willingly spilled to abate oblivion. He had no place among these people any more.

So too did he remember the Dowager Empress, the terminus and culmination of his sin. Her stained lace, the beautiful countenance ravaged by consensual rape. Could he finally destroy her?

Will we see Hekatrices swinging their power cucumbers (AKA 'agonisers' ) around anytime soon?

Pleased to see you went with the "Perverse Fist" as the Kabal name in the end!

Look forward to seeing the Incubi painted! The Haemonculus has tons of character, and it's great how he's different from a 'typical' Haemy yet still totally convincing as one for such a simple mini'. It fits with that you were going for having the Perverse Fist as exiles based on an Exodite world (confirm?).

EDIT: I hope I haven't given the game away there, Perkustin. Please spare me from the power cucumber!

Are you still to learn that the end and perfection of our victories is to avoid the vices and infirmities of those whom we subdue?

Reason well from the beginning and then there will never be any need to look back with confusion and doubt.
