No target lockers or shield gens? Listen my friend, knives dont do anything, so switch them out for a shield gen or target lock. But no knives. And what are the weapons?

Multi-trackers and shield drones. I find the drones much more effective then the gens.

Plasma Rifles and Missile pods.

Normally I do Burst cannons and Missiles pods for "what you see is what you get", but that is half of my battle suits.

Ok what killed the Sanginor? And your oppenent was silly, never ever leave an IC out in the open not in a squad, especially not a T4 guy without EW. That is asking for trouble. He should have deep struck in behind or beside your tanks with the sang guard and dante, he doesn't scatter so he could kill a tank with melta and then hem in half your force, the 2+ armour save, plus throwing a sang priest with them makes them hard to get rid of, you would have had to put a lot of Ap 1 and 2 Shots into them to wipe them, and that means you are not shooting as much at the rest of his army.

And Dante failed a 2+ armour save, bad luck, also if you have no shield gen, then the sang guard can put attacks on your IC in combat, with power weapons that fight should have been over turn 1.

Well congrads on the win, he made some major errors, which you lured him to make, and you used them to your advantage and crippled him, which is part of being a good general.

To be fair, my forces took heavy losses.

I handed out a pyrric victory last night to another of my friend's Tyranids(In that I lost the battle, but kicked his ass.)

Nice job. Plasma rifles are good, but they're kinda what everyone uses. It still works though. I only put Fusion Blasters and Burst cannons on my BS because a FB is good against the heavy stuff, while the BC fairs against infantry. Missile pods are good to. But be a little more flexible with the support systems. Drones, gens, target locks, and multi trackers are all good.

I like the burst cannons/missile pod combination more then anything I find it is much more flexible. Plasma-rifles don't do squat against loads of infantry.

I don't personaly think that you should have held the line for as long as you did plus i think your forces should have been scattered out a little more to try and split his forces.

Plasma rifles will work against light vehicles like sentinels or even dreads.

Had I done this, It would have allowed him to cut my troops down piecemeal. By keeping my forces close together it allowed me to focus fire on the closest squads, and increase my the survival of my troops. The more space marines die, the more Tau will live.

Plasmas I have found are good for killing space marines. Light vehicles are what the pods are for.

this is what happened when I scattered my forces a bit.

I just dont see how holding the line against marines is a smart idea i mean why hold when you can run and make them chase you.

Because the Blood Angels can catch me, rather easily infact. The Tau are supposed to be a maneuverable army, I'm not seeing it anymore
