Anyways, definitely looking forward to Skyrim. I'm thinking, and devoutly Hoping, that Bethesda learned their lesson about 'pandering to the masses' with Oblivion, and'll introduce some actual challenge to the vanilla Skyrim. But regardless of that, it's almost assuredly going to be much more atmospheric than Obliv, simply because of the setting. The Nords are a Viking race, with deep traditions and ancient legends. The Dunmer were worshiping ascended mortals on a sleeping volcano, waiting for a prophecy to come true. The Imperials... read the Black Horse Courier and fight demons. Honestly, the Imperials, and Cyrrodil by extension, are perhaps the most boring race of The Elder Scrolls, if only because they're so fresh faced and derivative.
