Space Marines: Polar opposites, but my favorites are Raven Guard or Space Wolves.

Chaos: Khorne and his followers, because ... Uh... BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!

IG: Elysians

Dont really have any preferences anywhere else.

Good thread idea.

Space marines: Legion of the Damned-I like the Mysterious, ghostly aspect these guys are rocking. Plus, that multi-melta guy is beautiful.

Imperial Guard: Death korps of Krieg-Do I really have to explain this one? Just look at them.

Orks: Speed freaks-Because red ones DO go faster, plus Wazdakka is a Speed Freak.

Eldar: Iyanden-I like the Necromancy aspect going on here, it makes the decline of the Eldar more apparent than other Craftworlds.

Dark Eldar: The Obsidan rose-these guys featured in this months WD; in essence, they get all the best gadgets and weaponry. And who doesn't like to kill people in new and interesting ways? Special mention must go to the Incubi, primarily because they are Incubi.

Tau: Farsight enclaves, if only becuase they do away with this ridiculous notion of the "Greater good."

Chaos Space Marines: Word Bearers-They're disciplined, scheming, daemonic and truly, utterly evil? I'll take 5.

Tyranids: Hive fleet Kraken-No real reason, they just look prettiest.

Don't have one for Sisters, and 'Crons and Daemons are pretty much one faction anyway. Sorry for the short justifications; my computer is currently broked and typing on an Ipod gets painful after a while.

...urrrr... I dunno

Oh, good idea Imbad.

SM: Space Wolves. Well, yeah, I just find them very cool indeed. Maybe it's the contrast between the savagery and backward nature of the fenrisians compared to other SM chapters, maybe it's just the whole Viking thing.

Orks: Speed Freeks. There's something about the need to move at breakneck speeds that appeals to me. That, and the colour red. I love the colour red.

CSM: A dead tie between Iron Warriors and Night Lords. IW I like because they seem to be organised and still something of a military force, as opposed to a crumbled ragtag warband legion. NL? I just love the whole terror thing. It's shocking what they'll do to break an enemy's spirit.

IG: Catachans. You don't mess with the Catachans. Ever.

Eldar: Saim-Hainn. It's the red thing again.

Waaagh! Gorskar = 2050pts
Iron Warriors VII Company = 1850pts
Fjälnir Ironfist's Great Company = 1800pts
Guflag's Mercenary Ogres = 2000pts

Suffolk, where the Aliens roam.

Space Marines: Oh thats a tough one to answer, I think the best I can do is break it down to three, which isn't bad considering there are thousands.
Space Wolves - big fan of Norse styled things in general, and the overall look they have is very pleasing. If they could get round to upgrading a few special characters or at least giving us a couple extra HQ choices model wise I'd have an army. White Scars - Jaghatai is just that cool, and I'd love a biker army at some point, main reason I don't is I can't paint white well enough for me to attempt it. Scythes of the Emperor - always loved the backstory to these guys, ever since I saw the little bit about them on Advanced Space Crusade, my last go at fielding these guys as an actual army had a 'Captain' Mort at the helm.

Eldar: Iyanden, always loved the stories about them, Doom of the Eldar was a fave game for a long time, the fact they gained Yriel as a Special Character and he got a model, means I'll eventually return to Eldar, especially now my wife has Dark Eldar.

Orks: Death Skulls, Lyin' Cheatin' an Lootin' for as long as I can remember. It's getting to the point I am putting together/planning four to five 1500-2000pt forces that can combine up into a giant Apocalypse force if need be.

CSM: Thousand Sons, one of my first 40K armies was Thousand Sons coloured as they where on the side of the Space Marine (what would later be called Epic) box, which was red with a black M. I love the whole tradegy of the chapter and the fact if not for the arrogance/stupidity (too far?) of the Emperor then the whole Heresy outcome could have been very different with Magnus at his side. If they ever get around to doing a full Thousand sons plastic kit, I'll be making them again.

Imperial Guard: Part of me wants to name one of the female Guard companies from the previous book, but I have to go with the Necromundan 8th 'The Spiders' as I always name them in these kind of threads, and I'd love to give that army the time it deserves. To be honest as I am without my favoured Guard force atm and will be for at least another year minimum, I may well start looking into a long term plan/goal of doing the regiment, even though it will require me converting pretty much every model in it.

Dark Eldar: Cult of Strife, just for Lileth.

Tau: Vior'ia I think it is, love the colour scheme.

Tyranids: Hive Fleet Kraken, just because of the connection it has to the Scythes of the Emperor marines.

CSM: Night Lords wins it for me, with Iron Warriors following a close second.

IG: I'm rather partial to the Mordian Iron Guard. Best dressed army in the galaxy

Eldar - Ulthwe, followed by Iyanden.

Marines - Dark Angels hands down

In the grim darkness of the far future, there are only rules disputes.

Much too far, heretic! The real tragedy is how this supposedly farsighted primarch's immense arrogance blinded him.
