Hmmm.....

Everything in the 3.5 ed Chaos Space Marine Armory.....yes, even the stuff few would purchase like Daemonic Visage...

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Armouries in general. The ability to equip even squad leaders with their own unique wargear was far superior to how things are done in the 4th and 5th edition codices.

Horrorfexes. It was fun using the last weapon in the game that could reliably pin. Why it was taken out of the new DE codex is beyond me.

Displacer Field (2+ Invulnerable) was nifty and smoke grenades were a blast.

It wasn't wargear, but Iron Arm was a pretty cool psychic power.

The 2nd edition assault cannon was a blast. S10, d10 wounds, three sustained fire dice - good times!

WHat was the Space Marine Weapon in "Space Crusade Mission Dreadnought" was it "Fusion" Cannon or something?

Conversion beamer. Yes, the weapon that SM MotF can take as an upgrade.
Otherwise, the heavies available were Heavy bolter, Multi-melta, lascannon, missile launcher.

Displacer Field was 3+. Power Fields were 2+.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

The Assault cannon was also Str 8 (not Str 10) with a -3 save mod. Yikes.

Power fields were pretty snazzy. Putting one on a Terminator major hero would be really cruel. Of course, in melee combat the field goes away.

All instances of "armoury" type selections. Even though many people took improper upgrades / point cheated.

It's nice to have it in the actual rules... gives the army a bit more flavour. It's like adding salt after you get chips whereas if they came with salt already on they'ed be fine but adding salt after just isn't as good... gonna get some chips now.

Does anyone Remember the old Cyclone Terminator missile launcher, the one where you could fire a full salvo and you got a blast template the size of a Dinner Plate? or am I having non-existent memory recall issues.

You remember correctly. It was 1" diameter for every missile fired, and a total of 12 missiles to last the game.

I miss Wargear Cards, especially the Vortex grenade. You got one with the boxed set, and one with Dark Millenium. As an Eldar player, I would give both to a single Exarch with Fast Shot and Crack Shot, with a Warp Spider pack. Turn 1, warp into the opponent's deployment zone and vortex his two biggest, baddest targets. Horribly abusive...

Yeah, some wargear combinations were horrendously unbalanced. I don't remember feeling guilty when I was laying down the hurt tho! Ghazkull was nails without Wargear and once you added that on top he was nuts, lucky that the Vortex Grenade was so freely available.
