I saw it when i was like 9 or 10 or something, and it blew my mind.
I especially loved the bit where the guy gets turned into sloth by radioactive waste and then explodes when struck by a car.
We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

The director of Robocop said his idea was to make the movie about the American Jesus. Watching it again it's amazing how many parts are in there, being reborn, walking over water, all that stuff.
Hang on a second, you might say, he's not very Jesus like when he's killing all those people. That's because it's the American Jesus.
Seriously great movie.
Oh, and as for the best movie of all time...

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

Big +1 for Dr.Strangelove,a fantastic film.
Also have to strongly agree with The Seven Samurai, actually I'd have to say that most of Akira Kurosawas films are worth a look.

Ah...but even though the shark looks "fake",the film is still magnificent...a true testament to movie making in which "effects" enrich a story and are not the sole selling point.

I was refering to back to the future part 2 (3d shark comes after him in the street and afterwards he says "the shark still looks fake")
One of the first commercially available 3D films which actually did well in the cinema. No a bad film, it had some totty too which was nice as young lad to ogle over.

...Opps..In my zeal to point out the superiority of "Character driven" films over BOOMPOWBANGBOOM films I completely missed your Mcflyesque reference.

And ofcourse "Saving privat Ryan"
I also am a huge fan of this other Kevin Costner (arguably the worst actor in the world) movie
Just love both of them. Hell I even like his Mr.Brooks too. Youd swear I like him, but truly I cant stand him
But I think the Terminator is just as good as it gets. Sucks the sequels fall so short. I think they are all pretty ok movies, but the first is just awesome sauce caught on film. I mean when he comes out of the fire when the semi blew up, that whole part is actually a bit un nerving

Sigged.
Actually, I'm not that mean.
I don't think I can pick one, but I do respect the following picks up 'til this point:
Seven Samurai
Jaws
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
Another which can compete with them is Unforgiven. I'll also nominate The Lives of Others.
Alien, SPR, Heat and Blade Runner are all-time classics as well, but not quite contenders against those five, IMO. Run Lola Run is another outstanding second-tier. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead as well.

Back when real men were ARNOLD. Now that weasel Adrian Brody fights Predators while Arnold fights Democrats. :/
PS watched it easily 30 times. Still entertaining. Possibly the best action/sci fi of all time. Plus Linda Hamilton....my god. Break my arm and make me your bitch muscle girl.

"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to." - Jim Jarmusch
