As the creator of the last console war thread...
PC's are for people who are used to mouse + keyboard aiming OR people who care that they have hyperrealistic graphics.
Consoles are for people on a budget, who don't care if they have hyperrealistic graphics.
Games like Black Ops, which are really subpar on a console rather than a good PC, are almost unplayable on anything lower than a $200~ video card. Some people, like me, don't really care if they can see every hair on that terrorist from 100 yards away. Deal with it, and move on.

Just one question Deff,

where did you hear about the laser drives? I've heard that one before (from a guy who was going to buy a Dell Mini with an 8gb SSD) and he said the same thing too. Is there some site I shouldn't be reading?

Also, the comparison is unfair. PC is versatility, but not everyone wants (or can get) a dedicated machine. For the visual quality you get in an Xbox360, you have to buy a laptop at least the double of it's price, and most people already own a television they can hook it up to.

The games' prices, however, are true. Though you just gotta know where to look, I guess - I bought Halo Reach CE for 40€ from Amazon yesterday.

If you want a gaming computer dont screw with a laptop. You have to go desktop. A laptop is nice but it overheats to quickly and ruins the life of the processor. And you can compare PCs to consoles. on the pS 3 you can go on the internet. Oh and by the way a needle less hard drive is worth the money and I found out about it when I went to build my computer at Fry electronics.

Now since all of think that the console is cheaper. Remember this you WANT the best sound system, YOU WANT the best TV for your console.
Which IN REALITY you end up spending more money on accessories.

You fail on the basis you had to include...

Awesome 60" 1080p HDMI TV $2000+
Awesome suround sound system $1200+

In order for the prices to come close to each other.

There is no such thing as a needleless hard drive. HARD DRIVES DON'T AND HAVE NEVER HAD NEEDLES.

Ok, the initial comparison was really, really biased. I could easily make a comparison using a much simpler TV+soundsystem (or even using the one most people already own!) vs a water-cooled beast of a computer. Hell, it took 5 minutes to make an Alienware PC for over $9000.

But, for us normal people who don't demand top of the line everything: What's wrong with all three?

You can get very good gaming laptops, and you can even add a cooling base.

There are different purposes for the things you buy. When someone buys a console, they don't want Blue Screens of Death (just RROD

), they don't want operating systems, keyboards, etc.
They want to press a button and have everything ready.

You mean a Solid State Drive. Depends on the brand/model. But "Fry" seems a place to avoid, if you're telling us what they told you word for word.

Who cares if it's needleless or not, it's a frigging hard drive.

The point why pc is best because pc can do anything consoles can and can't do.

And lets not forget that pc made ALL games great including God of war, Halo, Red dead redemption and all the other cool stuff (althouhg i dont consider halo cool). Do you know why?

Because you can't make games on a console. Consoles simply don't without pc.

Also I see a lot of discussion about the initial start up prices. You can go dirt cheap or expensive with all the choices. However in my experience it is the upkeep of the PC that hurts its cost. Everytime I tried to play a new game, (Neverwinter Nights was the worse), I always had to upgrade my system. Usually it was another $400.00-$500.00 to get my PC up to specs to play a game. That would be good for a few years and then bam, another upgrade for another game.

I think 313 Industries will handle the Halo franchise. They're relocated Bungie employees, if I'm not mistaken.

But yeah, PC's are versatile but expensive as sin. I would rather have a PS3 that just has downloads compared to a PC that I need to upgrade with video cards, etc.

That's why I choose a console.
