I love the blue!!! The brown model (flayed one?) I don't like as much, but I can't tell if it's due to the model itself moreso or not... regardless, the regular necrons look fantastic, imho.

You patina recipe is outstanding! I'm not so much a fan of the solid blue armour pieces, I'd rather see the whole thing done in the old copper style, but this is a great scheme and well executed. The Gauss weaponry is also fantastic, good job.

I'm also a huge fan of the "plasma effect" on your gauss flayers in the "brass" 'cron pics. Looks fantastic, plus the contrast between brass and blue reminds me of Egyptian jewelry for some reason. Like em better the more I look at em.

The Flayed one....meh well crappy models don't take paint very well. Not a fan, but I can appreciate the effort. Thinning the paints a bit might help yah out on that one. The blue destroyer is smurftastic.

Critiques from someone who couldn't paint half as well:

Love it! Color scheme is awesome, very very spiffy.

Flayed one needs work. Darken up the red, perhaps? tinge the skin bluish? I dunno, it just doesn't jive with the rest of the army.

The lord would look better if he had less silver and more brass. Right now he doesn't look like part of your army, but of an equally awesome, completely different army.

Your patina work is brilliant. I REALLY like the blue rods, they really stand out. The Lord, while beautifully painted almost looks a little too monochrome for my taste, but I like some contrasts, so that is purely personal. Overall I would say beautifully done.

Can't be bothered starting a new thread for this...

I've got my first Wraith ready to be washed, but part of me is screaming to do a normal wash instead of a Vedigris for some reason - maybe to show that because of their phase shifting they wouldn't corrode or something

Opinions?

Give it a try. I like to see the more unique/special units in an army be slightly different. Gives it more character.
