It's easier to understand if you've actually read the Inquisition War trilogy, but the Emperor has a fragmented psyche, split into hundreds, or thousands, which gives rise to the theory that He may be absorbing in some fashion parts of the souls sacrificed to keep him alive. Whether or not He was always this way, and these are the re-incarnated souls of the shaman, or He's just going insane on the throne we don't know.

The fragments actually work against each other at times, each performing certain tasks/keeping an eye on certain plans of the Emperor, and some are hidden even from the collective psyche of Him.

I think I'd have to support the Big E on this one, based on the arguments presented in this thread.

Ynnead's first goal is to eliminate Slaanesh, and without a source of renewable power (I.E Worship, or being tied in to an emotion like the four greater chaotic warp entities), his power will be greatly diminished after that event, so much that I believe the Emperor would have no issues dispatching him if he chose. I'm thinking of it as a tank of fuel....you start with a full tank (Birth, full infinity circuit), then expend it in your mission (Defeat of Slaanesh). By that point he'd be running on nearly nothing (No living Eldar to worship him), and without some way to 'refill', he'd be easy pickings for the Emperor, or any of the other Chaos Gods.

Ynneads expressed purpose is to defeat slaanesh in kind of a selfless parallel to how slaanesh was made. Slaanesh was brought into the world with the selfish hedonistic acts of the eldar while Ynnead will be born throught there sacrifice. Now IMO this will just cancle out slaanesh and allow eldar to become rencarnated again through the warp (eldar used to be able to rencarnate before the warp destabalized ref 3rd ed). So really comparing Ynnead to the emperor ascendant isnt a fair comparison and more like comparing him to slaanesh.

Thats an interesting theory like Ynnead is born and immediately heads into the warp and cancels out Slaanesh and they both become neutralised by the effort, although this will wreak havoc with the remaining 3 chaos gods who are no longer are in a state of balance.

IDK just my take on it. All that is said about Ynnead is it will take the sacrifice of every single eldar (Even the dark and exodite?) to awaken him and that he will end slaanesh. Taking this information I came up with that conclusion.

You make him out to be some super god killer who is going to be summoned and kill all the bad guys of the eldar and save the day... not really seeing it.

Slaanesh is the youngest Chaos God, from what I can tell the other three view him as some sort of intruder. They had a balance in the Warp before then (whatever 'before' in the warp means anyway).

That's not to say lust and other hedonistic emotions won't form in the warp, but there will no longer be a diety that draws on it. Deamonettes would probably fulfill the same role as Furies and the like, renegade deamons without a master or allegiance. It's true that the removal of Slaanesh will spell a huge power shift, but this won't throw the other Warp Gods off for too long.
