Rough Riders and fast attack slots.

Well, if they're competing with vehicles, then they don't belong in that list. Rough Riders really need to be in place to compliment the rest of the army (you know, just like every unit ever). They fit best in an infantry based army, and then only compete against Sentinels.

Look at your comment. Back to mine. Back to yours NOW BACK TO MINE. Sadly, it isn't mine. But if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate crap it could LOOK like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, finding the ones that your comment could look like. Back at mine, what is it? It's a highly effective counter-troll. Look again, MY COMMENT IS NOW DIAMONDS.

Anything is possible when you think before you comment or post.

I'm on a computer.

Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

I agree on the models, I own 7 of the attillans and they are just obnoxious. Not only are they not the greatest sculpts GW has ever done but I personally hate models that are a mix of plastic and metal. I'm personally thinking I might invest in a few Death Riders as even though they are resin it solves the 2 issues I have with the GW minins.

Cheers,

Ailaros wrote:Right, the reasons not to take rough riders or ogryn are real, but peripheral. I haven't taken any riders yet because the models are terrible and it's going to take me a while to scratchbuild, while they do actually compete with other useful FA slots (they're good, but not hands down the best in all situations). As for the ogryn, well, there's a reason I scratch-built mine...

i cant wait to see them

Both are a pretty poor substitute to a tricked out Valk or Vendetta in all honesty.

If you absoloutely, positively, *have* to have either option A or B then I would say....what does the rest of your army compose of? Either unit is only as good as the force that it (might) be supporting. If you have a proactive mech/infantry assault force I would recommend Ogryns. If you have a defensive artillery/gunlne army then perhaps RR would suit your army better?

I repeat this phrase so often I may as well put it down in my signiture:

It's not whether a particular *unit* is worth its weight in points, it's whether that unit can *achieve the objective that is was bought for* that makes it worthwhile including.

Now I've got to break out the GS for the riders...

Your one-stop website for batreps, articles, and assorted goodies about the men of Folera: Foleran First Imperial Archives. Read Dakka's favorite narrative battle report series The Hand of the King. Also, check out my commission work, and my terrain.

Abstract Principles of 40k: Why game imbalance and list tailoring is good, and why tournaments are an absurd farce.

Read "The Geomides Affair", now on sale! No bolter porn. Not another inquisitor story. A book written by a dakkanought for dakkanoughts!

Duuuuuude. I apppreciate your conversions/battle reports as much as the next poster, but do you reallly, really have to link to your personal website in what amounts to at least 70% of your posts?!

I mean, we get it, you have a website. You don't need to exemplify this is every other post. Why not make a gallery on Dakka itself if your that concerned with getting people to view your stuff?

ADDENDUM: I don't mean to sound bitchy, and doubly more so considering I haven't the time nor effort to expunge into my own website, but it seems rather much when almost every tactic article contains a link to Ailaros' homepage.
