but what I like more is your idea on making the blasters. a Blaster bit on ebay runs at 5$ a piece right now. quite expensive for such a small bit if you ask me

Definitely agree; I'm all about saving money! I'll be painting up the Venom probably later this week; REALLY wanna see how it comes out lol

Update:

So I basecoated and did slight details and a first wash of my 20 horrors. Wanted to make it easy to differentiate units, so I painted 5 pink, 5 blue, 5 green, and 5 orange. I really like how they're turning out, so I'll get pics up soon.

Also started on a Venom. Its turning out so-so so far... needs work. Having issues deciding colors.

Gonna have some new pics up tomorrow of my WIP horrors and venom; stay tuned!

Update:




Venom started: did most of the turquiose lining, just need to touch it up. Also need to paint the weapons and driver and finish painting the white for the sail so I can dirty it up with some devlen mud


Blue Horrors: needs detailing, second wash, and then highlights...


Pink Horrors: needs detailing, second wash, and then highlights... White guys my "changling", wanted him to look sort of like hes all blobby and morphing


Green Horrors: needs detailing, second wash, and then highlights...


Orange Horrors: Did detailing and basing, need a second wash and highlights to be finished.

I'm painting all the bases for the horrors to look like they're popping out of a warp portal; regal blue fading to a sloppy looking ice blue, then 'ard coating it to make it look like water. I like the results so far (see the orange horrors)

Further update:

Got inspired, so finished the Orange Horrors. I didn't do uber highlights, just brightened the orange enough so they "Pop". I like how they turned out!

My wifes been painting a japanese cherry tree pic, so giving me some time to get down Heres some pics of my finished green and pink horrors; one green horror (the one with horns) just needs a pattern painted on his horns, but otherwise, they're completed!

Update (yet again)

Finished up the venom! Its a little sloppy, when I went to put the canopy on glue got all over so I tried to clean it up :( Also, tried 2 or 3 different symbols on the sail and finally decided on the japanese Kanji for "sun" in teal on a black background highlighted in white. It doesn't look too spiffy (being my first one); but will only get better! Enjoy!

Love the venom, but that's Chinese for sun. The Japanese stole it because it looks cool, and then they put it in the name of their country.

Its all good, Chinese Japanese, Swiss cheese... However them being “dark” eldar and all, you could slightly modify it to make it moon 月. Or star 星, prolly wouldn't fit though.

Just got 2 old school baals (NIB, 1995 editions) + 1 newer version baal (not the newest ones); got em built up! I had to convert heavy bolters for the sponsons tho... but I REALLY like the old feel for the tanks! I'll get pics up shortly

Finished up 3 trueborn with blasters! just need to base them, but I'm gonna buy a jungle basing kit to do it... so it'll be a bit!







Took me around an hour per model and I'm really happy with em. The outlinings a bit sloppy so I might do a bit of black touch up, but otherwise, they'll look fantastic on the table zapping rhinos and chimeras into oblivion

So here are some (much better) pics of my trueborn squads. One squad is teal, the other is red (see markings on helms). I REALLY love how they turned out!








Plus started basecoating my Haems



The liquifiers are pretty much sawed off disintigrators. I'll paint the orbs green and highlight em to look like acid.

Update: started on wyches. Doing blue with black and teal trim for the armored bits. I love how they turned out! Also giving them all red eyes to simulate their "night vision" like a vampire or something... thoughts?

Its been a while since an update... got almost 2 full wych squads finished; just need to highlight on one, and they're done! pics should be up by monday if I getta chance

So finished 2 full wych squads of 7 + my agonizer and hydra from a third. Figured I'd share em; there was a lot put into painting them (think I used at least 15 different colors for base, highlights, and details) and this is the result... Truely the first decent models I've produced!

Wow, love your raiders bro! What swords are those for your Duke? I'm thinking I might chop shop a couple power swords for him, or wych blades. I'm gonna just cut the arms/head off my archon and mod him from there. I REALLY love the archon models body

Update: Been a while, but I have COMPLETELY finished all 4 squads of wyches for my new list; bases and all. I also finished basing all my trueborn/haemis. I also have a converted/completely painted Duke Sliscus as well. Look for pics tomorrow!

Baron Sliscus

He looks really cool. The color of the blades are very nice. The paintjob on the armor is also quite good. One thing I noticed though, the hilts don't line up with the blade.

Yeah, I figured I'd say they're like the Falchions or whatever old middle eastern peeps used with the odd curved handles. I seriously went through ALL my spare arms to find something I could use lol
