Darkest Kent (England)

Nice army - you've got quite the living metal horde

Okay, I've been on a bit of a hiatus 2011-14

Currently working on my Riot Guard.

I really love how you get the gauss flayers to other colours. For the rods do you just prime and paint over them or do you wash them to keep the transparency?

They're primed and painted - I'm going for a "sparkling" kind of look, I'm getting better at it especially since I figured out how to get my gloss varnish to set smooth(er).

Lyle Lanley: Well, sir, there's nothing on earth
Like a genuine,
Bona fide,
Electrified,
Six-car
Monolith!
What'd I say?
Ned Flanders: Monolith!
Lyle Lanley: What's it called?
Patty+Selma: Monolith!
Lyle Lanley: That's right! Monolith!
[crowd chants `Monolith' softly and rhythmically]
Miss Hoover: I hear those things are awfully loud...
Lyle Lanley: It glides as softly as a cloud.
Apu: Is there a chance the track could bend?
Lyle Lanley: Not on your life, my Hindu friend.
Barney: What about us brain-dead slobs?
Lyle Lanley: You'll be given cushy jobs.
Abe: Were you sent here by the devil?
Lyle Lanley: No, good sir, I'm on the level.
Wiggum: The ring came off my pudding can.
Lyle Lanley: Take my pen knife, my good man.
I swear it's Springfield's only choice...
Throw up your hands and raise your voice!
All: Monolith!
Lyle Lanley: What's it called?
All: Monolith!
Lyle Lanley: Once again...
All: Monolith!
Marge: But Main Street's still all cracked and broken...
Bart: Sorry, Mom, the mob has spoken!
All: Monolith!
Monolith!
Monolith!
[big finish]
Monolith!
Homer: Mono... D'oh!

You've totally got that weathered brass look perfectly. Must remeber your simple, yet amazing, technique if I ever re-dabble with 'crons.

Monolith looks ace.

Homer, There's a man here that thinks he can help you.

Batman?

No, he's a scientist.

Batman's a scientist.

It's NOT Batman.

The verdigris looks great! The blue rods look greater!! The lightning effect on that Monolith looks...greaterer?

Excellent work

After much fiddling and mind changing I've finally finished my prototype custom Flayed One!

The next ones will have better "hands" and I'll try to think of a better way to attach the knives; also thinner skin perhaps

Here's my second go at a custom Flayed One - I'm happier with the pose and "hands" but the colour of the skin is a bit basic/warm/something! Once I've managed a skin colour I'm happy with, both will probably get re-painted.
C&C and gallery votes welcome

While I decide whether I'm selling my army, here's my Nightbringer that I painted a while ago. He needed some touching up here and there, but I never got around to it
