The Inquisition still wouldn't like the thirst that the Blood Angels have. Its too similar in sound to taint. But even so; the Inquisition will carefully weigh up the benefits of keeping the chapter.

They are the Inquisition. They suspect themselves half the time, and lets face it BA sound a lot like Khorne worshippers with more feathers.
Although the Inquisition would never do anything unless BA went completly over board.

With the black rage it is not surprising that they would be suspicious. Just remember what happened with the Flesh Tearers.
In fact I'd say that the Inquisition has be much more lenient than normal, maybe because they were a founding legion. Chapters have been wiped out for less.

Nothing happened to the Flesh Tearers. They have a higher rate of nutcase-ania than the BA but that's about it.

In the third war of Armageddon after defeating the Orks in the area they turned onto the Imperial Guards there. The SoB order, the Order of the Argent Shroud, happened to be there and rather then fight the Flesh Tearers and make things worse they retreated and reported the incident demanding that the chapter be purged.

So either this will be ignored or they're getting around to it eventually.

Interesting, the Flesh Tearers also had a massive fight with the Space Wolves.

Last i read, he was basically resigned to the eventual death of his chapter and has decided to go out swinging... unfortunatly they seem to be swinging at everyone and not just the enemy.

I always considered BA one of the more loyal/pure SM chapters, alongside Ultramarines, Imperial Fists and Scars. The Fists/Scars/BA really have a special place I think, due to their defense of Terra during the Siege. Ultramarines...well as bland as they are, they are pretty much the iconic SM army now....

Fluff-wise, it could go either way. If they do start to slide towards Chaos, I'd say that Dante and the others would ensure the whole chapter goes out in a blaze of glory fighting the dark powers or something, rather than be purged.

Back in real life... Come on. These are the BA. They're one of the oldest chapters. GW is never going to have them go renegade.

From the moment they join the ranks, a blood angel knows that they will either die a hero or live long enough to be made into a villain. I think that fighting off the red thirst and/or black rage means they are more vigilant when to comes to keeping their wits about, as its something they have to spend their entire lives doing.

That's why they have Astorath the Grim. He ends the lives of those Blood Angels who aren't killed on the battlefield so that this never happens. The only exception is Lemartes who hasn't lost his mind, but his body shows every sign of being under the Black Rage. The loyalty of the BA is not in question that is for certain. They are one of the most loyal chapters around and the Black Rage is something that is somewhat out of their hands.

Loyalty to the Emperor doesn't ensure the safety of His servants if they're unlucky enough to share the same battlefield.

It's only a matter of time, Chaos is eternal. All it takes is for one of them to go bat crap crazy and chop down an Inquisitor lord or some grey knights. Then the question of how loyal they are is a moot point.
