Hmmm, I wonder if anyone would suggest to WBC that the annual gathering of motorcycle enthusiests in a small town in South Dakota involved such things that the church finds offensive..........
Just a thought
Of all the races of the universe the Squats have the longest memories and the shortest tempers. They are uncouth, unpredictably violent, and frequently drunk. Overall, I'm glad they're on our side!

These bastards truely will go to any end, huh? What the hell does a 9 year old have to do with anything?
Also, what does Lady Gaga have to do with it?

This sounds like the start of a horrible joke. Who do Comic-con, Lady Gaga, a soldier and a 9 year old girl have in common?

In the OP, didn't it say something about Lady Gaga's opinion on them?

I think they are putting all theirs in the Shredder, to tell the truth. I may be wrong, but a funeral is a holy event....

i know that things like protests are protected under the 1st amendment, but dont most cities/states have laws regarding things like getting a permit for these gatherings??
if so, the people who give out permits should deny them to these westboro people, and have the 5-o waiting for them to arrive and jack them all up with a little police brutality (which i forget, Germany doesnt have many/any anti-brutality laws, unlike us in the states)

Since I ought not to wish violence upon them, I'm going to pray that they see the error of their ways and start behaving in the way that Jesus, the guy who they claim to follow, would want them to.
Matthew 22: 37-40 NIV
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Oh, and of course Mattew 7:12 NKJV
12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Haters gon' hate.
They're all lawyers. They protest in the hope of provoking a physical reaction in the hope that they can sue the pants of the one to be disgusted and offended enough by their antics to escalate matters to that level.
I always found it fascinating that for the most part, the "mainstream media" (how I hate that phrase) showed no offense to their antics when the only protested homosexual funerals (including Matthew Shepard's if I recall correctly) but when they started displaying their messages of hate at military funerals then the media started condemning them, and now they're straight up trolling by exploiting this tragedy,, even the more rabidly conservative elements condemn them.
I've been hearing about them for a long time, dude.
They were in the "media" when I was in high school which was long before any of these wars started and no one was impressed with them back then either.

They've been in the news for a long time. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see evidence that they started getting MORE coverage when they started picking a wider range of targets. But they increased their own visibility at the same time as they started offending even homophobes, so it'd be hard to say which was the bigger part of us hearing about them more.

See, here's the thing. Westboro is a bunch of insane fanatics, so instead of logically reasoning with them, why don't we convince them that the world is full of sin and the only way to save themselves is to commit ritual suicide...
Honestly though, what they do is terrible. I don't care about a person's beliefs, they deserve a proper funeral without disturbance. I may just head over to Westboro and piss on their graves.

I take great comfort in the fact that groups like the Patriot Guard exist. So much so, that I can't feel too sad or angry that Westboro Baptist Church exists for any length of time. I'm too busy glowing at the knowledge that the Patriot Guard is out there doing their thing. Those guys rock.
I could think of 300 that could make sure that they don't bother this funeral or any other funeral ever again.
True, the amount of homoeroticism in that movie would have Westboro fleeing for the hills in blind panic.
“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
Well, good luck to Arizona, I hope that works out for them, and that the funeral isn't ruined by some peoples callousness.
I think we're done here now, we don't need another thread full of "hilarious" images.
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
