Very nice work my only advice would be on the genesteaslers maybe try to basecoat them in a dark blue or purple (whatever you like) it looks like you added highlights onto a black model and it kinda shows, some more gradients to your highlighting on these genestealers and your better than me already.

The basecaot is regal blue + badab black...

First mini's, you say? Heresy!!

I'm not the greatest critic, but DAMN that's fine painting. With a little refinement (proper application of washes, detail work, NMM, ect), you could end up a Golden Demon winner! (it's the ugliest trophy you'll ever win!)

But I think that it cannot be possible.... come on the Golden Demon is really FAR from that... even with all the proper refinments...

true. My IF models (one done out of 6) go step-by-step like so:
-chaos black spray
-1:3 mix of snakebite leather (1) and golden yellow (3).
-second layer of 1:3.
-third layer of 1:3.
-boltgun metal drybrush on bolter.
-chaos black shoulder trim.
-golden yellow highlight.
-blood red lenses.
-scab red lens-wash.
-scab red purity seal.
-bleached bone parchment.
-scorched brown light drybrush on the bottom of feet.
-ogryn flesh wash.

But these guys are for show, so normally, my raven guard:
-chaos black spray
-codex grey highlight
-boltgun metal drybrush
-yellow shoulder trim
-blood red lenses
-bleached bone parchment
-scab red purity seal

on bare heads I follow a different technique from the norm:
-white face.
-ogryn flesh wash.
-2nd wash.
-3rd wash.
-4th wash.
-black eyes.
-white either side of eyes.

to make a pale skin effect.

What do you think about this one?
I tried a different order of steps...
i don't know, i would like to be more precise... and add some layers of space wolf gray and warlock purple and hormogaunt purple to the head (2:1:1)

now trying doing it with a 2000 point army ;D
