Alright well sorry for the long absense (absence?) its been a hectic week with the lil 1 and gf and life in general but did manage to finish basecoating the last of the dragon claws and my rhino pics 2moro not sure if i need another coat on the rhino but thats why im posting pics to get your opinions

The closest I could find was the current alphs legion one. Unfortunately (for you) it looks like the current salamander symbol yelling

These look awesome! I had the idea for using Lizardmen bits a while back when I found some whole sprues lying around my FLGS. Here is what I came up with for the Lizardmen Heads and Shields.


When it comes to painting them I suggest staying away from the Army Painter paints for the Salamanders. I based black and used two dry brush coats of Snot Green. A black micron pen .005 for the recesses and then Goblin Green highlights. I went for molten lava as a theme for my army as opposed to scales but scales are awesome and look good too. For sure, like I said I went for flames, lava, meteors as the central theme for my Salamanders company but scales are equally, if not a bit more, legitimate as an overall theme. I think my favorite part about the lizardmen heads for hammers was how easy it was to fit them on. No pinning or massive amounts of shaving/sanding required, they're a nice snug fit.

Well i have plenty of extra saurus laying around i think i may have to steal the idea give them a bronzed look though as if the marines forged the heads to look like the skulls but yea the scales and bits are basically trophies from when each marine has had to kill a salamander

Ok sorry for the lack of anything these past months havent had much hobby work goin on till now captain is painted but not finished pics will be posted soon hopefully once i get my bootmgr decompressed -_- but back on topic sunday a 3000 3v3 game my salamanders with blood angels and ultramarines vs my tau under my cousins control and nids and chaos it was a close objective game but it was a win for the astartes

Ok finally got my comp um and running finally and in the meantime it was down i decided to try some actual painting on my captain...he isnt finished but this is the progress so far.....

Looks awesome however i'm not much of a fan of your seargents backpacs how about painting there loin cloths as salamander skin however the double heads look awesome on your captain.

Yea i do have to agree they look a lil weird but if they ever make captain then they get thier second head for thier backpack lol

Very nice, I like salamanders, IMO the best chapter second only to the sons of russ ( but those guys are special) keep up the good work, I really like the use of lizardman heads
