It is to tell the audience that the character is evil.
Just in case they didn't get that from the recent bad guy just did something jolly rotten scene.
People with a mid life crisis tend not to laugh like that.
Space Marines never laugh at all, miserable gits that they are. Not sure whether they would have a crisis or when in their extended existence it would be the equivalent of 40 something.
Given that they are taken from adolescents and brain washed to becoming superhuman I would say they don't.
Also agree with Vik, and would add that the Marinification process is something akin to the ceremonies used by some cultures where there is physical and psychological change on the 13 year old.
Space Marines do laugh. They are still human. No matter what you do to the human mind. It is STILL HUMAN. Space marines are humans. They can never get rid of their basic things. But they cannot marry. They just don't seem like the laughing type. They are very brotherhoodly, they make fun of their other members sometimes. Thats what being a brother is, being able to make fun of your sibilings and to have fun with them. Basically Marines in the 40k universe cannot get rid of the fact that they are still humans, no matter what.
No therapy, no war training no altering of the human mind can change what they are. Humans to the core.
Space Marines are trained to believe in alot of things, but you cannot get rid of their personalities which leads to jokers, bold heroes, geniuses, bolter fanatics, etc. They will develop their personailities through training, as they get either cocky and such. Its just what happens.
But they do not have the unquie human characteristics they do not want to get married, they are genetically changed so they cannot mate with any females. Its impossible for them to do that.
Marines do laugh, read the books, and they make fun of each other. They tell stories about their victories etc.

The Space Wolves are probably the most human of the chapters... The Salamanders are admittedly more humanitarian but the Space Wolves aren't as clinical as the other chapters.

Gosh, this makes space marines seem really lame when you think about it. And they're mostly virgins too.

All my chapters I have made all have human characteristics and base their humanity not cold heartedness. The Wanderers best personify the human characteristics. As they make fun of each other and such.

Fluffwise- no I think space marines are incapable of having a midlife crisis, Chaplains would rage at the idea, Liberians would detect uncertanity in their purpose, and they'd normally die before half way through 'seeming' immortality
In the ever changing limbo of Girs subconcsious-
When a Marine reaches his mid life crisis, he gets himself a nice Bike/land speeder/rhino/predator/land raider and goes,
'Guys! Check out my new ride!'

Do people never remember the space wolves, they are more likely to make fun of each other than the enemy(they just kill their enemy)

Isn't Dante currently in a mid-life crisis? If you consider 1000 years old to be mid-life. Anyway in the codex doesn't it state that all the fighting is wearing him down a bit? I guess it's not so much as a traditional mid-life crisis but more like he's getting sick of things.
