Hi Everyone! I have taken new photos of the squad. I have made sure to tkae photos which were less yellow, so hopefully they should look clearer than before )and easier to see the detail). I have not been able to get any washes recently or update/improve their paintjob. But I have changed the pose which the female veteran is in; she is now throwing a grenaden instead. I think her new pose helps emphasise that she is female (you can see her figure more clearly now the gun isn't in the way). So heres the images, enjoy! The Squad Sergeant, Shotgun, + Melta Veterans Flamer, Vox, Medic, + GL Veterans The Rookie, Female, + Marksman Veterans The Female veteran (new pose) The Female veteran (new pose, from behind) Hope you all like the new images, let me know what you think (Hoping the images actually load , they aren't loading in the preview, if they dont appear let me know and I'll try re-posting them )

Indeed lol
How would you recommend I make the shotgun more distinctive? Any suggestions?
Also could you tell me whether my latest images are visible to you, they aren't loading for me, if they aren't also loading for you then please let me know.

The images aren't showing up. Maybe try uploading and linking to photobucket or imageshack?
As for the shotgun, I'd personally remove the energy magazine and file down the receiver until it's flush with the forestock. Maybe replace it with a drum magazine or something instead?
I'd also try to make the rear rail housing (just in front and above the shoulder-stock) a little less reminiscent of a lasgun, maybe by removing the uppermost layer or angling the rear of the gun's chassis (is that the right word?) downwards.
It just needs to look less like a lasgun, as opponents may have a hard time keeping track of the squad's weaponry, and need to be able to tell individual models apart at a glance.

Yep, I'll set to work on that
Shotgun will be edited also, I'll see what I can do to make it look less of a lasgun and more of a shotgun (I was originally going for the 'las-shotgun' look to keep with the las-weaponry my army uses, but i see where you are coming from and I will change it, I like your suggestions I_am_a_Spoon )
With regards to the images I will see if saving the images onto the computer from the camera THEN onto Dakka will work, rather than straight from the camera to the dakka (I really dont understand how they do appear in my gallery, but they dont appear on the forum ). So i'll be re-uploading those images in my next post

Thanks in advance
Either Gryphonne Sepia (for a lighter shading) or Devlan Mud (for a darker shading) apply the wash, let it dry, then repaint over it leaving the creases etc shaded.

@RayvenQ: Thank you. I'll keep those paints in mind
@mwnciboo: By priming you mean spraying them black before painting them? then yes.

I think its time for an update
Its really annoying that these images of my squad will not show-up. I'll see to it that I can get the updated pics onto this forum at some point.
In the meantime I got myself some Grey Knights! Just Brother-Captain Stern and ten normal grey knights, not much but its somewhere to get started from (also im going to colour them red, black, & white. Should look awesome!)
For the airborne veterans I haven't done much in terms of updating recently, however I am going to be improving their paintjob with washes and shades.
With regards to the girl trooper I dont think i'll be able to do any significant changes such as sanding the legs down to be thinner, I could but it could turn out really badly so I dont think i'll do that. But then again I may change my mind.
Also wih regards to the shotgun, being at the state it is now (fully finished & in position/glued in) it will be very difficult to do any significant edits to make it look more like a shotgun. I'm looking to make the shotgun look (if any changes are made) more like a combat shotgun, not one of those older looking ones (cant think of what they are called atm). So any edits that are to be done must be fairly easy and acceptable, I dont want to go cutting the weapon out of the soldiers hands, it could result in permanent damage to the pose and look to the model, so something maybe to add to the weapon which will make it look more like a shotgun will be fine (im open to suggestions for this).
And also recently I have played this squad in a few games, nothing game-changing atm but they performed quite well (admitedly taking a few casualties, but overall a good performance).

I gotta say, these models are COOL!
I scrolled through the pictures list thinking "maybe I'll borrow this guys ideas" when I get my own Valk.
Then I saw that shotgun.
I quite literally cried. I didn't like the shotgun.
Now, of course, to each his own. But I implore you to take a look at this page; (Not to "hijack" this thread) and give it a shot, it's what I use on my shotgun toting Veterans.

Conversion done by Lifeofshan, As I recall.
p.s. Really like the female trooper idea, and yours look good. I might do an entire female unit. See what happens.

@TacticalGenius: Thank you, im glad you think they look good.
The female trooper has proven to be quite popular . Good luck with your squad idea
I must admit I wasn't quite inspired (or had any idea of how to make a good shotgun) when I was first making the shotgun, so I just went with simplicity.
As I mentioned earlier it would be quite tricky to do any significant changes to the model.
But then I saw your recommendation!
And I have to say that is the coolest shotgun conversion I have ever seen! Its so good that I will attempt to re-convert the shotgun to look like that one. Heres hoping it goes ok (I'll post an image of the result when im done).
As for the other images, I will get around to re-posting them, AGAIN, even though they refuse to show themselves on the forum , even though they appear in my gallery 'sigh'
Also if anyone does want to see the new images of the squad check out my gallery, they only seem to show up there
