On moon miranda.

DKoK Grenadiers. Greatcoats, Stahlhelms, carapace armor, and skulls, what could be more "Stormtrooperey"? Especially in regards to the original meaning of that term? (WW1 German Sturmtruppen, elite infiltration and assault units)

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

I have to agree with that one. DKOK grenadiers are pretty badass looking, and a perfect shoe-in for STs. hope you have a thick wallet

I would love to use the grenadiers but my Roleplaying instincts forbid me. If only I didn't read there IA sections

Not sure why your asking tho...they are one of the worst units in 40k. Id rather grots.

There may be plastic storm troopers with GK anyway.

I agree, Stormtroopers are pretty horrible. You're buying a weaker Space Marine Squad for the same points. They're cool because they can Deep Strike, But I'd rather pony up the points and get a Vet Squad into a Vendetta or something...but I digress.

Scout Bodies with FW or Pig Iron heads sounds cool...might have to look into this.

I love the karskin models...

Used to love them so much in the DoW games

I once had the karskin with the sword wipe out a entire SM biker sqaud in close combat.

Aw, but the STs give you some things you can't get into the codex any other way and do it much cheaper that vets in valks do. Anyway, this isn't supposed to be about how awesome STs are.

I would advise against dkok grenadiers simply because it is really expensive to buy meltas for them and you can't get plasma at all. You could convert but it really can't feel good to cut into that beautiful FW resin can it?

Those look really good, Scott-S6! I've seen conversions before that used the scout legs, which I think look out of scale (and are popping battle squats of ludicrous proportions) but just using the bodies works really well, makes them look like they're wearing very bulky body armour/breathing kit. Heads and guns are ace too. What exactly is the tubing? I need something similar to use on plasma/melta gun carriers.

It's a 1mm steel wire coated in plastic. Quite hard to shape but it keeps it's shape once you've bent it.

Do be aware, all of the scout parts are much bigger than cadian parts - even just using the torso makes them significantly taller.

I don't field Stormtroopers in my speculative IG army. My Veterans are WGF Shock Troops with Pig Iron heads, painted with a skull motif over the respirators.

Once the Grey Knights codex comes out, I may very well pick some up to use. Just snip some pieces off of the "flamer" that comes with those, and you've got yourself a pretty good looking meltagun.

Ok yeah I am probably picking up of these just to use as hardened vets if not stormtroopers. They look awesome, just need to convert the guns some.

That's an interesting look, but I like it. I've thought of using the extra-armored Valkyrie door gunner bodies with Valk crew heads for Stormtroopers.

Wow, I really like these! I might have to do something similar...or at least consider it.
