Hmmm... im not sure, even though there is only around 5 hours of electricity in the winter here, the floors are marble-y and most electricity is after i go to sleep.
I could suggest wearing very long pants that can go about a foot past your ankle.

Every time I put my boy in his footy PJ's I secretely wish I wouldn't look like a tool in them as a grown man.
They look soooooo comfortable!

Get your granny (or whatever you call them in the states) to knit you a pair of thick woollen socks. They wont have any elastic in them so they won't restrict your circulation and are ohh so toasty. Also gives Granny something to do.
*Note you need a granny who can knit

Forget footy pajamas, get yerself a manly night gown like they used to wear in the days of old.
You can go commando without scaring the kids when you wake up.
As far as feet go, a cat or dog do nicely. If not them then I would get boot socks or something.
