My Imperial Guard army is primarily GW, but I have quite a few misc. models from other companies filling in (usually because I found them cheap in a clearance bin or used mini table). There is a Warzone Bauhous (sp?) captain, now with a boltgun who often fills in as my Colonel. I also have bauhause flamer trooper in my CSM plague marine ranks and a ton of unknown minis (from the used bins) as cultists for my Alpha Legion.
Never had anyone say anything negative about my substitutions in friendly games around the local stores, although sometimes people are just curious where the models came from.

For the Emperor! Kill Maim Burn!... I mean purge the unclean!
