QFT, it would easily explain the presence of a HUD.

I'm more of a fan of third person when it comes to close combat, first person hand to hand has always been a little bit awkward (fallout 3, Oblivion).

At the very least, I'd like to go to first person view when aiming down sights.

Part of the appeal of the game (being a Space Marine) is lost in First Person Perspective.

Of course, the fact that we have to be an Ultramarine... I kid, I kid!

This perspective worked well in Army of Two, I suspect it will work well here.

If the controls are anywhere near Gears of War's fluidity then I'm all for it, been losing interest in first person lately.

I'm fairly certain it's lost regardless, but first person view allows me to better aim.

So third person for melee and hipfire, third person for aiming down sights and sniping. Sounds good to me anyway...

In third person, I prefer close in over the shoulder for regular weapons, first person for weapons with a zoom.

If I get first person on every weapon in a third person I lose sight of everything around me, which is the thing I use the most in third person games.

That said, either way, I don't really mind in the end, though I'd prefer over the shoulder (and I doubt it'll be first person since trailers seem to show that the combat is at quite a high pace).

so in essence the only thing that will satisfy is you actually being genetically modified and going through years of surgery and indoctrination to become an actual space marine.

Meh. Slightly closer over the shoulder just means more of the douche's helmet is taking up space on the screen.

Which is something that really annoys me about 3ps games...

I guess we'll all have to wait until E3 to know more about his game. It looks pretty cool though, I'll be getting it after around a month.

Honestly? I love that about 3ps games. It's part of the reason I love GoW so much, I just think it adds character to the game.

That, and you can actually use your camera to look behind walls, and assess situations before just jumping into them (Mostly in Oblivion, did I do that)

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

*Lobs frag grenade at Alpharius* LOL

I think it looks pretty good, but I am kinda biased (notice the sig)
I'll be getting it first day, I don't expect it to be the best game ever made, but c'mon, it's a 40K game, so you all know you want to play it. LOL

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

That's one of the reasons I hate 3PSs. The dam character keeps getting in the way.

Though I really don't see how Gears became so popular. Was it because of the chain saw gun or something?

Supposedly it was the fluid controls.

When done right (Uncharted, Army of Two, etc.) it works VERY well.

So, hopefully it will be done right!

That and all of the grunting made lack of character development very understandable. Except for Dom who grunted AND cried.

Prefer 3rd person myself, especially after being amazed by Dead Space 2 (the first one was also great), and plenty of other 3rd person games, like gears.

I like being able to see my character, and not being able to see your genetically enhanced, heavily armored space marine would be a tragedy. What good is awesome looking armor if you never see it?
