I run both my Tau and my Eldar as "Hybrid-Mechanized", where a force of skimmers (Falcons, Wave Serpents, and Vypers; or Devilfish and Hammerheads) are supported by a smaller, more stationary gunline-style infantry force (Guardians and War Walkers; or Dismounted Fire Warriors, Pathfinders, and Broadsides). My mileage has varied greatly, but that's partially because of the army (Tau up until very recently) and partially because I was/am relatively new to the game.

I owuld also think that a dark eldar webway portal list could be good footsloging.

Blood angels also work (although more foot-jumping and deepstriking)

Actually, there is a very powerful build you can make in C:SM

I thought footslogging meant no transports .

So if I may append a question. Can you make Footsloggin C:SM viable without using shrikenators or transports of any kind?

A few years ago I spontaneously bought 54 dark eldar warriors at an auction, just because the price was shockingly low. They've sitting on sprues, given I've been focused on my IG. With the new codex, I'm excited about getting these boys up and running, and even bought a cheap dark elf model to convert as a general. I'd been thinking about a footslogger army, mainly because I can't afford a bunch of raiders and ravagers, and what do you know along comes this thread.

So, what would a good deldar foot army look like? I like the idea of a few 20 man squads with support, but to be honest I have yet to give the codex much more than a glance (though I do have it).

1750 can fit thirty assault marines, ten death company, lemartes, priests and reclusiarch. Forty jump pack marines toting meltas and furiously charging is really really fun.
