Personally, I've always imagined the Hive mind to be a little girl playing with dolls in a'stereotypical' girls room (Pink, horses, fairies etc), with a shadow looming over her. However, I am messed up, so that is probably why.

the theory of the hive mind could well be a C'tan for the nids are from another gallexy and they might worship a completely different set of C'tan from the necrons.

I like to think the Tyranids just evolved on some random planet one day, and slowly became the deadliest organism ever. I think it's cooler if they are an unstoppable force of nature rather than some mad scientists creation, whether that "scientist" be an Old One or a C'tan.

Also the Outsider=Hivemind thing is the silliest theory ever. I don't know why it's as popular as it is. The Hivemind is a warp entity which alone makes it impossible to be a C'tan.

"Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things, and we shall do so again."
"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"

That's pretty much how I've seen Tyranids. Like, some alien race in some random other galaxy accidentally spilled toxic waste on an alien-ant nest and they devoured the planet, evolved spacecraft, and went nuts on the universal food trough.

The big thing about the theory of the outsider is that he has gone insane from consuming both the old ones(thus gaining their power) and the other Ctan, he then left the galaxy because he is crazy as a rat in a tin gak, but with the fact that he has gained power from the old ones he has eaten may contribute to the fact that he "could" be the hive mind granted its just theory since GW hasnt said anything. most likely we will see what happens in the next codex sometime this summer.

Like the chaos gods, the hive mind is a collection of little gerbils scambering around in a glass tank!

yes..... YES. cute and fuzzy creautures controlling the massive bug-like creatures that devour galaxies. It's the only plausible theory!

"Strike first, strike hard, no mercy."
"We are judged in life by the evil we destroy."
"I am going to drastically thin the enemies ranks."
